I am planning on hosting a competition on my anniversary.
Yup I’m definitely having rules to keep out the bots and passengers.
1. Put up or shut upA) If you only have one item shared
B) if you haven’t posted a character in over a year
C) you only have 2 friend
D) both b & c but you are Legendary
E) you do nothing but complain
F) still live in parents homeIf you answer yes to 5 of 6 you will not only not be allowed to enter but won’t be allowed to vote.

I think im going to start time limiting all my requests.
I cant keep track of them and after awhile the newness goes away. Some get posted anyway weeks later without any PMs or points involved. You can always re-update request or just post again if it gets lost in time.
Yup. I’ve run that on both the suggestions as well as PM TPTB that they should add a tab for posts another for comments left and one for requests. If they can do that with friends groups etc they can add three more tabs on that same bar. We shall see.
Members who are biased against other members and enforce rules to keep those members from participating in competitions should not be allowed to host competitions.

Im not sure I would want to omit people that dont post. I was one for awhile and in another thread it was brought to my attention that could ne unfair to those that cant afford it. There's no way to separate those that cant and those that wont.
There's enough content here that a few site visits for 100 points each should easily be enough for new people to save points. Ive seen people make great stuff with less.
If you feed a stray dog it will follow you everywhere.
If you dont feed it, it will eventually wander off to find food elsewhere.Dont let petty stuff like this get under your skin. Have fun, enter the contest. Make friends. Theres always at least one in every crowd and the internet is a huge crowd.

I'm no genius, but I can understand @hawkeye's ma-ma-mental issues. Ich bin ein Loco MUY LOCO. Yup, classified and certified. Despite the fantastic art I made without understanding. Just natural talent. However... *get's ugly... I lacked any social skills or personality. Sound Familiar? @dennydroid and @d0gg0d Thank you for not stooping to a level I am all to familiar with. @Hawkeye has some serious issues; Let me start with saying he is quite an artist. Natural understanding of lighting and rendering. And more than likely one of the many persons that makes their own characters from scratch. Would probably be quite rich if he (or she?) had the confidence to have courage. The courage to present his art to a higher level of appreciation. The courage to risk everything and capitalize on his skills. But most importantly, the courage to realize he may be the only one at his artistic level but just can't cross that rubicon because of all the horror stories he hears and the negativity from actual persons with zero talent and skill. @Hawkeye, you're adorable.
But if I could turn back the clock at just that one moment that I could have been the replacement singer for a very popular band, I'll be honest. I would have liked to have at least given it a better effort instead of a bitter effort. In all honesty @hawkeye,

Don't get obsessed over rules or the lack there of. If you've got the talent (and I know you have) then you can make lemonade out of not just lemons. Even when one misspells it intentionally.To get off the shit storm and back on topic, I kind of like the idea of Only use items on Zonegfx, Because I have been collecting items for around 7 years and have two terebytes of items, Most of which is custom, or modded items, or Items that I have product tested (So I can't host them out of respect to the creator/modder/etc) IF you feel the need to use something you don't have then you have to "buy" it here and download it, Like someone brought up on here already, Same soapbox to use, That way someone can't go and buy a brand new item, win the contest then share the item, Which in a sense would give an unfair adventage, if you ask me.
@Arachne @Locololo @Hawkeye I think since the topic of this thread is titled Pre contest input and heads up is indeed just that; Dialoguing and feedback for @D0gg0d and he will take that constructive criticism in all fairness that there are persons extremely talented and newbies that make this ZoneGfx not just another art appreciation site and surely not a (dare I say) file sharing site. @D0gg0d it's your contest and thank you for allowing us to give you our input and I like the idea of stuff that is obtainable here for every one.
@Hawkeye I don't understand your term advert. is that advertisement? Because I fail to see how any contest on here can be nothing but advertisement for this Zone. All the more so, I think you are a savant amongst artists? I've seen your work and I can only stand it so long. It's like it's trying to pierce my soul. Especially that Madonna or Medusa? Wow! Extraordinary, intense and beautiful!
But why are you upset if the material only comes from here? After all. Here we are.Thanks for trying to get us on topic. We dont have much respect for any creators if we post their content here for free but, I understand if you are/were personally involved with these people.
I think keeping it a ZoneGFX contest makes it a more level playing ground and promotes the site. Might make a few people at least browse again and possibly spend some points. It also makes it slightly more challenging since it limits you on content. Not much though because there is a lot here.
Ive mashed a few outfits and Morphs together but nothing close to what the video has done. Hopefully it will go over well. I dont want people to feel rushed and give them time to think over things and browse Gigs of content. So this is one reason ive posted this thread.
Other constructive suggestions are welcome.
