@eelgoo Here is just about complete, still just have to add some facial details like pores, but otherwise skin is now done and shape as well.
This is still not even properly lit and rendered, but once it is I think it will really come out nice. Ive noticed postimg compresses and the colors and changes it a bit duller so you cant see a lot of the fine details.
April 6, 2023 at 3:53 AM #1952368April 6, 2023 at 4:34 AM #1952374@frank22 wow, that looks amazing. What was that created in? I DO think it is possible to create similar that in DAZ (im not good enough yet to accomplish it, still learning about all the gadzillion shader pieces). But i think it would be possible with the correct maps (particularly bump detail, normals and displacements) and if someone really knew the shaders inside and out, someone could accomplish it.
April 6, 2023 at 5:13 AM #1952380This sort of hyper-real rendering relies on being able to create shader trees with controls that aren't possible to do in DS..... 3-Layer Diffuse Subsurface Scattering which simulates the scattering effect of real-life skin that is made up of three distinct layers. So no, I really don't think you can do something at this level in Daz Studio.
April 6, 2023 at 6:18 AM #1952398Couldnt some maps be created for each of the different layers and merged into 1 to simulate that?
April 6, 2023 at 6:36 AM #1952411Just had another thought, not sure if this would work but would be very curious if anyone else has ever tried it, to render a character multiple times, but each time with a different skin layer (which will be different opacities) and overlay them on top of each other in post with an image editor. What I mean is, maybe render with no basemap, just a solid skin tone color (almost same color as the base map to be used) as bottom layer, then render a duplicate image excpept with a basemap of the other layers, such as blood vessels only map, etc.. then lastly after all the others would be the regular basemap. Each will have a different opacity so all layers would be visbible, but some more subtle than others. Wondering if such a thing would work and what the result would be
April 6, 2023 at 4:05 PM #1952713@eelgoo Here's a test render (stopped after only around 250 samples because I noticed the hair was blocking the face). Also seems to have given herself a wedgie with this pose, which I left in because it seems natural when bent like this.
This is lit with just 1 light, plain old HDRI. Hope you like it.

I think she is complete now before I move on to the next character ( would love to do the three stooges, but I don't know what skin tones they had since i've only seen them in b&w). Here's one more shot, you can see the face in this one.

uhhh... @gts6
You gonna share her with us? She looks great!And...
I have tons of 8/8.1 Characters, and maybe 20ish 9s I've picked up from here.
Honestly, I don't really need any more per se' but I often download new ones because I want to put their skin on a character shape I already have.April 7, 2023 at 7:27 PM #1953400@Redflag Thanks. Sure I can prob share here if theres interest, plus I'll have to figure out how first. Since it's not sculpted, made from variety of different morphs from many vendors. Have to package it up and if it relies on something another user doesn't have on their system would need to be included. And I really don't want to do it manually. I still need to test out the content gather software, possibly sometime in the next few days i'll get to that.
