The main reason that a lot of companies don't maintain a back catalogue of previous version or older plugins is to keep the customer base on the same version and push the "New, Shiny". People that are happy with a product and don't want to change or update don't want to buy the new hotness and keep the money coming their way.
Like many companies, they take the approach of minimal testing and then force their customers to double up as a larger more effective group of secondary beta testers. I guess it's cheaper for them to not have to hire people to do the work. One of the many reasons I've steered clear of Daz and their "contribution" to the 3d community. Their logo should be something ruthless like a great white.

can't vouch for it working or being virus freeIf they charged $200 to beta test then, Id be pissed. However, its free and a ton of content is free with it.
Ive had no issues with the free beta and imho it works great "for me".
While I like the classics like Pac-Man and Mario, I wouldn't trade Grand Theft Auto or Dragon Age to go backward to those.
I remember my results with V3 and im fine with G8 and whatever is next.
