It stands to reason that the faq's and any other guidelines applicable to membership of this site are an aid to allowing the moderators a little free personal time [grab an odd hour or two of sleep? Grab a bite?].
Existing and new members should have enough sense to at least look for an answer, before crying Help.

Food for thought?
When someone applies for registration - have a section of information/instructions that must be read and a tick box [several?] that must be ticked before registration can complete, stressing that reading is in their interest, as if they ask stupid questions that should have already been read, they will not be a priority problem for Admin [and re-direct them to the info to complete again - correctly].
Yes, there will be the 'clever' ones that just tick without any attention paid - just keep re-directing until they learn to read.
You can try to make the site fool proof - you will never make it idiot proof. Just shoot them.....:)

As this is a rant type thread, I would just like to lob in an observation.

We seem to have a rash of petulance just recently.

There is no need for it.

Surely we are all here for a common purpose?

If everybody pulls their weight in the community & accepts the majority decisions, then, as I see it, there is no need for the tantrums.

That said though, I do enjoy a good rant.

I really don't care if I am the rantee or the ranter.

Either is equally entertaining, I think.

A big round of thanks for everyone making the site successful, the owner, the mods, and especially all the members coming together to share their content. If you look around the web, it's clear all the content being released into the wild is largely coming from this community.
