First impressions after running a few tests:

Figure and assets are loading significantly faster. With the old version, I had time to go to the kitchen and make a coffee while loading something (at this point, everything was taking age to load, it was a true nightmare). With Ds6, figures takes maybe 10/20 seconds max depending on the size of the file. Hair loads immediatly, etc.
I can actually work properly when I have several characters in a scene. I loaded one with kinda 15 characters, fully clothed, etc. On DS4, moving something was a slideshow, with DS6, I can move things without lagging.
Simulation with Dforce items seems to work better as well. No explosions so far, better speed, no lag.

    Now...
Some old scenes can't be rendered in Iray and I have a black screen. Not all of them, some. Not sure if it's something loaded in the scene preventing it to render properly. Maybe it's a bug and it will be fixed later.
None of the scripts are working, which was expected since from my understanding, they are now using something more recent as backbone. Guess we will have to wait for vendors for an update of their items.
Major issue, for me is we will no longer have the Mesh grabber plugin available, unless paying that f***** premier subscription. As someone who was using it a lot, that sucks. I tested an old scene, with a custom morph of a skirt, made with Mesh grabber. It doesn't load properly in DS6, so you can't edit something in DS4 and import it later in DS6. Or maybe saving it as a morph, I didn't test that yet.

It will probably take a few weeks/months for things to be fixed/tuned and the whole soft running properly.

Since I can run it along DS4, no big deal. I guess I will just swap between versions depending on what I need to do

as a reference, I'm running it on a Ryzen 5900x - 64Go DDR4 - RTX3080. It would be nice for people posting in this thread to give their specs as well, so we can see if some setups have a better optimization than others. Intel vs AMD, old vs new generation GC, CPU, etc.

It runs like shit on 50 series cards. They haven't done anything about in over a year, they likely never will.

I have several go to plug ins I use pretty much every time.

I think having something load quickly & not be able to do what you want, is a poorer option than waiting a little & then make progress.

Well, as I said, it was expected for the plugins to not work anymore with the new version.
DS4 was working on an outdated version of framework, maybe 10/15 years old. You can't use something like that anymore if you want your software to evolve. It happens with every single soft: at some point the architecture evolved and a bunch of features are no longer working because the backbone is different. You can't keep the same architecture/engine for ever. I can't really blame them for that.
Plugins and scripts will be upgraded by the vendors to work properly with the new version. No big deal.
My only concern is the Mesh grabber plugins not available anymore since they bought it and decided to put it behind a paywall (premier).

I am glad that version 4.24 still works. I won't be getting rid of that. As DS6 can only run one window and many of plugins and scripts don't work. I won't delete it, but won't use as much as I do with 4.24 - which is superior.

Even the premier features don't work, so I can't use the render queue (which I use daily)

Unfortunately, I have to switch to daz3d 6 Studio since my 5060ti did not work on studio 4 since 4 did not support my video. I don't like that most scripts aren't working on this 6 studio, like the meshgrabber and some other scripts. i also noticed that when loading my edited model wont load all the settings. Hopefully, this will be all fixed in the future.

Any scripts for DAZ 4 will have to be updated.
I.E. geo graph material scripts (match character) do not work in DAZ 6.

What about the render times? Have they improved or remain the same? I've realized that Daz 4 doesn't work well wiht rtx 5000 series, so, one more reason to not change my rtx 3090 yet and I won't use daz 6 fot the moment.
