Unless you have high-end platform (i.e. AMD Threadripper or Intel X series) it's not worth it to install a third GPU. Low-end (i.e. consumer) platforms don't have enough PCIe lanes to provide the throughput to move large scenes in VRAM fast enough.
Once I had 2X1080TI and a 1080 (not TI) as a third card and this setup was a lot slower than just the 2X1080TI, and just felt slugish. My MB does support 3 GPUs but you end up with 8X4X4 and not 8X8. Even though I read the PCIe 4X shouldn't be a major issue with 3D rendering, it's only true once the textures are in VRAM.
Sure, for complex renders that will take hours, it won't make a huge difference, but I got tired of waiting for the textures to copy to VRAM before I could see the results to fine tune my scene.
Get the Titan. I'll pull the trigger, eventually...
@drgnmztr, yes you'r right, social media is monitored in these days...better be safe than sorry...
