SO does anyone know of a tool, or method, or the encryption key that encrypts the daz script files?
What i really want to do is decrypt the pose and clothing convertors to see what they are doing, so i can write one that will go from G8 -> G2 and G3 -> G2 for VAM (https://www.patreon.com/meshedvr/posts). I can do it by hand what not, pose the outfit to fit the g2 base figure, then export it as a obj and reimport it and transfer the bone structure with the transfer tool, but really want a one click solution. or write my own.
August 22, 2019 at 4:10 AM #1213054To my knowledge, you can not decrypt the DSE files of a creator, only the creator has that particular Key. The built in ones have been decrypted, and those are for sale on another website.
August 22, 2019 at 4:25 AM #1213067yeah, i don't buy that. if they all had their own key, daz would need constant updates to decrypt, each time a new creator added content, then a new private key would have to be added to daz's key store. When you reference 'that particular key', remember that keys are pairs, public and private, or single key. The writer would either encrypt with a public key, then DAZ has the private key in it to decrypt, or it's a single key encryption, encrypted with the same key on both sides, it can't be that difficult. The private key is somewhere in the code. I just figured some guru out there would have figured that out by now.
August 22, 2019 at 4:26 AM #1213068@tysim1966, though you may be right. Maybe daz has 1000s of preloaded keys, and they sell them? i dunno. i guess i could ask daz about it, pose as a content creator, write some script that is cool, and ask how i encrypt it.
August 22, 2019 at 4:28 AM #1213072ahhh, it's all built in to daz. gotta be reversible somehow, i shall not give up.

I just did a long post here to tell you that and my thoughts on that.... But I guess my session timed out and I had to relog meaning I lost all I typed.Essentially, you would have to find the function in the daz code and reverse engineer it. Or, if it is just a compression key, there are tools out there to break them.
August 22, 2019 at 7:06 PM #1213987😀 yeah, i'm poking around. I came up with an alternative solution.
I loaded both G2 and G8, played with morphs on G8 to pose and morph it to match G2. Then i just load clothing to g8, set smoothing to collide against g2, export as obj, re-import and use target transfer to load g2 bones to obj file. Works fine for what i need it to do.
I bet it is some compression, or custom key, since the decrypt has to work from version to version.
August 24, 2019 at 7:48 PM #1216938@auto paco i would love to see the pose converters from one genesis to another. can you privately share the secret?
August 24, 2019 at 7:49 PM #1216940i really want to take the g8 and convert to g2 poses. i have my reasons 🙂 even if i have to do the math from g8 -> g3 -> g2
August 27, 2019 at 12:39 AM #1219808September 17, 2020 at 3:26 AM #1628993Yes You can decrypt them. They are barely encrypted. The key is in the daz binaries, and they are all encrypted with the same key. They can't have separate keys for each one, otherwise, you would need a separate key to decrypt each one of them. I've done it, as well as paco, but only in 32bit. It'll decrypt any of them, and it's just some form of compression, not really encryption. Like the DSF files you can read, just add .zip to them and they expand to the full text file.
I'm going to find it again, it's somewhere on a backup, cuz i need to edit some of the broken scripts for shell textures generators that no longer work.
September 17, 2020 at 3:28 AM #1628994It's the DzCore.dll ... any smart people out there feel like redoing a switch flip in it? Basically you need a second install of daz, and you flip the pointer in the DzCore dll, it then will show all DSE as decrypted. THough however, regular daz script files wont open afterwards. hence the secondary 32 bit install.
September 17, 2020 at 3:51 AM #1628995Found it, but i need to find an old installer for 32 bit daz studio. Anyone have one? Specifically Veresion 4.11.0.383.
July 30, 2021 at 10:52 PM #1716351@aftyrbyrn: Is this still a thing? Because I suddenly have a burning need to decrypt DSE files.
I have DAZ 4.11.0.383, but 64bit. Maybe we can put heads together and get this rolling...
