Hi Jim,
DS but used to use Poser.
The main problem was and still is the newer Genesis figures are impossible to import into Poser without breaking.
Loved V4 and M4 in Poser, but gave it up as the Genesis dolls became more popular and only worked in Daz Studio.March 17, 2018 at 10:58 PM #536125yes this is why im asking. i always used poser but i like the look of the genesis figures which is making me go over to daz. I pretty much mastered poser but i never really used daz much so its a learning curve 🙁

I found Posers GUI among other things a lot better than DS.
And I'd gladly go back to Poser if the Genesis dolls were compatible.
How I miss Posers IK......March 17, 2018 at 11:04 PM #536134looks like a good move by Daz to take more of the market share....

For me it's DazStudio all the way, and I only use 3Delight. My pc would die otherwise!

I used to be a Poser hardcore fan, had it from Poser 5 to Poser Pro 2014 I think that was it? Lots of money sunk into that, eventually I was no longer happy with V4 and using the DSON importer I wanted the shiny stuff that is G3 and G8 as well as Iray. I made the switch and then never looked back.
March 18, 2018 at 11:56 AM #536810Used to use Poser from Poser 4 onwards.
Being an ultra realism freak when IRay launched it blew me away.
Daz Studio ever since.
I find it soooo much more user friendly & would never go back to Poser.🙂
March 18, 2018 at 1:06 PM #536885Poser, and Daz here. Mostly Poser, until I get a graphics card that will juice out Iray renders in reasonable speeds.
My personal thoughts, on the software may surprise a few. Granted I've used Poser, nearly exclusively, for so long, that it's a second nature of sorts, I think that DAZ, even without a full user's manual, is more friendly, and easier to learn. But, it loses, awefully, even today, from the lack of a proper native runtime that a new user can play with, as they learn.
Poser's preset light sets, IBL sets, figures, and environments were key for me to start learning, and the in depth manual explained many of the advanced setting of the render engine, to the point where my first ever Poser render had me jaw-dropping on the results.
That said, and with Iray being far more friendly, and efficient, compared to Superfly, Poser's unbiased engine, I'll eventually move to DAZ exclusive use myself.March 18, 2018 at 3:09 PM #536977Daz groupie here, tried Poser could not get Genesis peeps in there so I uninstalled it.
March 19, 2018 at 6:57 PM #538543I'm fairly new to this, so i started learning with Daz3D 4.8 and since then, i've been more than happy with what it can do and with the ressource available. So i never felt the need to look or try Poser.
March 19, 2018 at 9:09 PM #538634Daz, as, surprisingly, poser was less stable for me than DAZ ever was. Also, for whatever reason, I never really got into Poser years ago when I fiddled with it as much as I have DAZ.
March 19, 2018 at 10:11 PM #538695I started out with Blender, but I'm a DAZ studio user. Iray all the way.
