I also think we need to double check the posts.
Twice now, I've grabbed Mephistoles Sci-Fi Collection from here and twice it was missing the Geo directory. I downloaded it a while back, but didn't get a chance to use it until last week. It was missing all the objs and useless.
So, I spend 50 points (again) and download it.
It was missing all the objs and useless and I'm out 100 points.
Wait a day and you get your 100 points back.
Id hate to think a mod would have to test every product posted. I do think they should do a quick search on DAZ to see if its a bundled item. In spare time delete artist bundles that are just groups of other posts aleady here.
Ive considered making a dozen special bundles but came to a conclusion that im not that much of an ass.
IMHO uploads need these few things done.
Add some form of link to here pic or txt.
Scan for viruses.
Search for single and bundle links to prevent reposts.I don't care about the points. I share, so I have plenty. 😉
I'm more mad that the archive was incomplete.
I had one that was incomplete also. I did a request and a member was kind enough to link me a complete item point free.
There are some good pirates out there.
@Methuselas : Yeah, it happened to me too once. It's really a bummer. But D0GG0G is right, you can maybe ask/post about de default product and sometime, a member will help you complete the product with the missing file. That's what happened to me. (I'm still thankfull to that person!)
You should also really notify an admin about the defective product so that they remove it from the website. An non fonctionnal/incomplete product should not be allowed to be published. It juste waste/rob people from their points for nothing.
On the actual subject of this thread, my opinion is pretty close to the one of what Daddy_George wrote above.
I’ll chime in on this. I see no issues with an item being posted both in a bundle and as a single item AS LONG AS it is sold both ways. There does have to be some responsibility of the buyer to make sure they aren’t spending points on stuff they already have.
I agree with him. If the original product is sold on the store both in bundle and individualy, than i don't see really a big problem with that. Because the person who first bought it could have bought either the product in bundle or individualy in the first place. So i'm fine with all those "PRO" or "Starter" bundle.
As for custom/artist bundle.....meeeh....i don't mind that much too, but i wish people wouldn't do that. Especially if all the individual items in those bundle are already available. It's not like it's a huge chore to download one at a time these items. And if you are so stingy about points....well...what to say....
Just be patient. Come here everyday and you'll eventually earn enough point for what you want.It also help not to download everything you see and try to focus more on what you only actually need/use. Although, if you like being a hoarding squirrel, eh...i don't have a problem with that also. You are free to do what you want with your points after all!
