Art competition winners.
I joined a few months ago and the front page of this website has always had the same rotating 4 pictures.
What are these pictures from ? Do these pictures ever get updated. No offence to the creators of those featured pics but I have grown bored of seeing the same pictures.
I wonder if these 4 spots could be used where Artwork competition winners are displayed?
I think it would be a nice way to celebrate a winner for the month or until the next winner of a competition..
You could also have a link from the winners picture that would take you to the page containing that particular competition that was on and get to see the other entrants. If i were ever lucky enough to win a competition It would make me feel proud knowing that everyone landing on the front page would see my winning artwork. It would give me more incentive to enter a competition.
With 4 slots available it gives you 4 different competition winners to cover.
Do you think it would looked upon as too much work for the websites admin and not really needed?
What do you think? Is it worth putting up as a suggestion to the websites boss?September 20, 2018 at 10:30 PM #770157Anonymous

I think those pictures came from a banner competition, they hold those every so often to switch the banner pictures out.
September 20, 2018 at 11:14 PM #770224Thanks Meriel that answers my question. Im still getting familiar with this community.
I guess my suggestion is not needed as it already is some kind of winner display.
🙂September 20, 2018 at 11:15 PM #770227How often? I love competitions, even if I'm not even close it's fun to try!
September 20, 2018 at 11:23 PM #770240Me too, I am hanging out for the next competition. The last fear competition was first time i ever showed any of my art, and that has now made me want to get better. Its all good fun and helps me get more creative.
September 20, 2018 at 11:37 PM #770257Previously, the banner comp has been arranged every month I think, or every other month. There hasn't been one for a little while now, the last one was... July? Something like that.
Wouldn't hurt to have them every other month, at least, to get some changes to the banners, and show of the people on here.
September 21, 2018 at 12:40 AM #770345The Banner comp is every 6 months held by Tomsk and chosen by Hunter..
On a side note, if you want a contest, hold your own. You don't have to be a mod to set up your own member contest.
September 21, 2018 at 1:31 AM #770402I whole-heartedly agree with @errilhl, even every other month would be nice. Perhaps showcase the renders on the Hall of Fame area if no specific banner contest is used.
September 21, 2018 at 1:44 AM #770419on a side note, @globalrecession2009 you are more than welcome to enter my contest:
I must warn you, you've got some serious contenders
The prize is 100,000 points. the judging (2) will be used to decide the winners.
The top winners will be awarded 50,000/30,000/20,000
You've got ten days left to enter and I am giving 1000 points to each person that enters my contest. Also, if your art is too graphic or offensive as per guidelines, use a image hosting site or upload it like @tommytomahawk did. Deadline for entry is September 30th and midnight EST. no purchase necessary but would like it if you share one content that isn't already on the Zone. void where prohibited by law, lol.September 21, 2018 at 5:51 AM #770600Well to be honest no offence , I didnt look at your comp when i first saw it in the comp thread because the title made me think it was a written submission.
I will take a look and check out the artwork.
Poor old Tomsk had to help me getting my image to show up for that other competition thing.
I do find it hard to actually get an image to show up in a post. This forum is not like forums I am used to.September 21, 2018 at 10:32 AM #770797@globalrecession2009 upload the image to postimages.org, after it's uploaded, click the "Direct Link" that shows up (if you upload a single file) - if you upload multiple files, you will have to click the image you want to share, click "Share" (button, top left), and pick the "Direct Link".
Then, in your post, just click the img-button above the input, and paste the link. If you want to link to the actual image as well, so people can see it in full-size, make a link (click the link-button above) and paste the top link on postimages in there, with a title, something like "Link to full-size image" and put that underneath the image.
September 21, 2018 at 11:32 AM #770860Thank you @errilhl for helping @globalrecession2009 with that. Don't worry, both @Errilhl and @Tomsk has had to help most of us at one time or another. I'm tempted to suggest there be a tab, "Ask Tomsk or Errilhl" added on the side, lol. GlobalRecession2009 I look forward to seeing your entry. Got a spot saved for you and the bonus entry points ready to transfer to you. Thank you.
