An Idea and Proposal

I apologize if this should have gone in the other forum, but it’s related to requests so I figured I would put it here.

I was thinking about it. There are certain products I have been wanting that I requested and was hoping posted soon. Many of us do this because we don’t have money to buy the models we want necessarily. Some of them, if you want bad enough, you buy them and (hopefully) upload them here, which is what I did on one of my requests quite awhile ago.

When you do that, you get points, which is fantastic; I love this site and the system. The thing is, getting points obviously doesn’t necessarily get you the ones you are looking for. But for some reason I got an idea.

If there is a product you want, you may be willing to pay the $20 or whatever for it. But if someone said, for $20 I’ll give you a bunch of products, you’re more likely to buy it. Well what I was thinking, is what if people on the request board did a sort of pot luck. What if people in a group each put up what product they are most looking for or maybe everyone just picks one from the most requested. If everyone bought one product for whatever amount is chosen (I’m thinking $10-20) and then we all shared (and uploaded obviously for everyone else), it would get more of people’s requests quicker. It’s just a thought. I think people would be more willing to purchase something if they knew they could get a certain group of quality products. It would be a good incentive I think to get people to want to buy something to share here.

It's not a bad idea, directly, but it might be hard to do in a way that makes sure everyone is happy - what prevents me from saying, "sure, I'll do that, and get you that one, if you buy this one", and then not deliver.

Also, I'm really hoping everyone who's lucky enough to have money to buy assets, and have been here for a long time (especially those) actually know their duty, and upload what they buy, no matter which asset it is.

That is my philosophy - every time I can afford to buy an asset, I buy it, and I post it. Same for older assets that I discover that isn't here, or requests, or reposts, etc.

While I'm not opposed to the idea, I'm not sure there are enough people that will participate. Mostly because, also, that most people on here (statistically - there are plenty of okay people here :D) are leechers. And they won't participate. Not that it won't work with just a few people, but to get a thing like this going, you'd need at least 15-20 people or more participating, I feel, since maybe not everyone can participate each time, and so on.

Well maybe we could do one that we specifically wanted not just from the request list, so if someone does lie at least we didn’t waste money on one we didn’t want. I’m not sure it would work; I just figured it might be an incentive to get more people to upload. I know I have only uploaded one product, but I’ve only bought one in quite awhile, but there’s a couple I’ve been debating, which is what made me think of it. It would feel like your getting more for your money. But at the same time I get not wanting to just offer to buy something someone else wants and hope they don’t just leech. Which reminds me, I keep meaning to search to see if my old products I’ve bought are available here.
