Anyone here using the dforce magnets? For some reason whenever I try to set key-frame animation on the magnet itself, the magnet gizmo moves, but not the magnet mesh. It's locked in place. But the "magnet' part still works just fine, holding the fabric section in place. Any ideas?
February 13, 2019 at 5:05 PM #959438You have to run the simulation after setting up the animation to take effect on the mesh.
February 13, 2019 at 6:12 PM #959515I'm doing that though. No movement with the simulation. But the gizmo for the magnet is moving. It's almost as the magnet is locked for some reason
February 14, 2019 at 8:36 PM #960993How do you add the magnet?
1. select a vertex of the surface you want to animate
2. add the dForce magnet and position it near to this vertex
3. define the keys
3. simulateIt seems the magnet is not connected to the surface.
February 15, 2019 at 1:40 AM #961236Gahhhhh... This is driving me crazy lol. I've went over the directions many times, and followed the video. Maybe a setting toggled from previous projects?

And the gizmo moving when the magnet is selected: https://imgur.com/a/bfyKf6k
This video leads me to believe that some setting is locking the magnet in place when simulating.

February 15, 2019 at 9:36 PM #962373Change “Start Bones From memorized Pose” to “OFF”
Change Frames To Simulate to Animated (Use Timeline Play Range)same results 🙁
February 16, 2019 at 5:43 PM #963426I think you are doing nothing wrong in the video, maybe it helps if you do a video on the whole process if it's different to this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vttMJkJvpCA&t=763s
February 16, 2019 at 8:20 PM #963538Here's a better video from start to finish of the basic included example. Note: I toggled "start bones from memorized pose" after this example with the same results. I even set the surface sim settings the same as the video example above, as well as the fabric subdivisions.

February 16, 2019 at 8:44 PM #963560ok, I did everything exactly what you did, it works for me. So I am running out of ideas. Will send you my scene file that is working for me. Let's see if it works for you or not.
February 16, 2019 at 8:59 PM #963570Just updating here. Sarah has sent me a scene file. The sim works when I play it, but it breaks when I re-sim, giving the same undesired results as prior.
