Whats a good program to load a Daz model like G3 or 8 and custom texture it? Also needs to make seam points easy to match. Kinda like real time painting. I want to see work as U go. Thanks.

    Substance painter, ZBrush or 3DCoat.

    Which do you favor?

I like Substance Painter for real time 3d painting. Zbrush is ok, but Substance is a whole world of it's own. Plus with PS experience, the learning curve with Substance is quite minimal.

Mari is apparently really good but I haven't been able to get my hands on it. Also, I intend to try out Mudbox when I can; while I think Zbrush has much more in the way of artistic tools to shape and manipulate digital clay, Mudbox from what I've read and seen/watched, is more intuitive handling normals (painting real time and seeing the full texture/bumps/specular etc)

Mudbox and Mari are both really nice. But for realtime PBR work or procedural painting right out of the box, Substance PAinter hands down. Mari is a hog for resources and Mudbox has it's niche, but real time texturing isn't what it was designed for, it was built to compete more with Zbrush as far as digital sculpting goes. Mudbox lacks a lot of features, has limited brush sets, and doesn't do PBR painting without some updates and tools to help it along. That said, if Substance craps out on your machine, Mudbox is probably the way to do, plus it's an autodesk product which means you can technically get it free. 😀

substance doesn't properly support UDIMs yet so exporting a DAZ figure (which are made of multiple skins) isn't the simplest thing.

I probably will start with the surface layer only for a bit but it would be nice once I get more familiar with whatever I use to be able to do more.
