Ive been wanting to host a contest. Id like to do it blind but dont want that hassle. So if a mod wants to do the blind part great, if not it will be open format.
Voting 1-10. Assign a number for creativity, complexity and quality. In your mind add these 3 totals together and then pick your top 3.
This is my second idea for a contest still trying to sort out the first. Maybe ill post it soon but for now... I want feedback and any ideas. This is your heads up, warning, early info,ect... This is NOT a submission thread.
I am putting up 15,000 points total. No bonus point unless someone would like to cover that.
points divided 50% first place 30% second and 20% third. Donations welcome.Rules are that you MUST list what you used to create the character or item. It must be something you can buy at Renderosity or Daz3d stores. If not at these stores provide where it can be purchased. >> I want to stay away from basic OBJ files but give your opinion on this.
It can be 3 spaceships mashed together. 4 outfits, 8 different character morphs, 2 cars ect...

So a kit bashing contest huh? I like it. Like ALOT, so count me in.
There's a bit of a problem there, with some of the assets being unavailable for purchase, especially if someone would mix and match Aerysoul and Alfaseed pieces, that are all now unavailable. Same goes for several older scenery assets.
That said, if the items in questions can be found on the blog, and that's ok with the contest rules, it's not really a problem? I think?It can/should be reworded to be "anything that is or was purchasable" at Ren/Daz
Most old items are here for download so it shouldn't be unfair. So a working link to the item here would be fair.
I just dont want to see lightwave and 3dmax stuff pop up if thats even possible.
Mostly want to keep it as close to home as possible.
Great idea, but I've been wondering for a while... why blind? I remember when Rob introduced the idea and I've found it nice, but now almost every contests are blind and I wonder why.
This really would not be anything different than any other contest we have had people are already free to use stuff from different products in the contests it's just how u use them.
There are a few friend that may vote for friends but that cant really be prevented cause of communication but, less likely to happen.
There are a few people that dislike each other and more likely to vote others down just because they want to be an @ss.
It adds some flavor since you have no idea who did what till the end.
I think it brings up a more fair voting system but really not required to have fun.
If I were to take totals like others have recently, Id drop the lowest and highest.
I still might consider that since the highest is the Artist and the lowest probably the @ssAdam i should say that i like the blind contest the best i like to guess who did what render and than see if I'm correct at the end of the contest.
How about “items you can obtain here on ZoneGFX.”
Kind of like that race where everyone has the same opportunity because they all have the same soapbox to start off with.
You can title it Adam’s Annual ZoneGFX Soapbox Derby.
This way also no one has the advantage of having the funds to buy not only better products and possibly hiring an artist outside our Comfort-ZoneGFX. Just an idea and count me in on points that too since Myeong stood me up.

I’ve set aside 10,000 points I haven’t obligated to my ongoing “Bounty-4-Beautiful-Oriental-Booty” project I’m involved with.
I’ll be going through my requests posts and deleting them and/or put a time limit on them.What does it matter where the parts come from, whether bought or free or pirated? ..is this a comp or an advert?
And why the phuk would you need to buy and share a piece used before you enter?
Whts started out as a great idea is now getting confused by others input.
You dont have to buy anything. Everything here is free.
Some people dont share. If you want to use it you have to share.
If you dont want to buy something dont. Ive listed nothing that has to be purchased.
I want it from here because this is our hang out of sorts.
As you and others have stated in the past, you can run your own contest and you are not forced to enter. TTFN
