Hello all. I've enjoyed all of the traction that the Artist Showcase has been getting in Groups, but I was wondering if there is an etiquette for posting in other galleries such as Renderosity or DAZ. I'm too chicken to post anything in DAZ's gallery, but I post to Renderosity on a regular basis. What are your thoughts? Does anyone else post to other galleries (ie DAZ, Renderosity, Deviant Art, etc)? Are any members aware of issues, such as product used in a render being cross checked with account purchases? Sorry for the long post, and I may be overthinking it, but I wouldn't want to do anything that could put the community at risk.
So long as you don't use the same name or email, you should be pretty right. I have some of my older stuff on fb and have some of the vendors as friends. They have not queried anything.
I post every where I can but I also make pieces that I can't post here or places other than my Tumblr. Nudity and Sex reasons.
I’ve been wondering the same thing, and if you should at least not mention which products you used. Anyone else who has?
I’ve posted on my own site, but always worry about galleries, if they will know where I got the product or question it. I wonder though if the big sellers even would ever attempt to keep track of it anyway though. They’d have to scan all the galleries.
If you want peace of mind, just keep posting here, where you have the 'pot calling kettle black' scenario if there are any issues raised. 😉
My advice would be to make sure that your username on here, Daz and where ever you post your pictures to are different. If it's easy to track then that's where the issues will arise. But honestly, when's the last time you heard of some 3D rendered artwork that got so much publicity that someone decided to check into what products were used? There are people making full comic series, games and Glob knows what else and you'd not know where they got their content.
First off, use a different ID for here, including the signature on your image.
If posting to FB, DA, Rendo, personal website etc, its none of their business. You don't have to answer anyones questions if they ask. But you could always say you share a friends computer that has this stuff and you won't give out their information.
