There’s been a few times where requests have been filled so quickly, that many have to make a new request, which causes duplicates to spam the requests page. Why aren’t they merging into one request since they share identical SKUs and product names? It may be better to do that since it makes the request page look cleaner and possibly have an option (via a checkbox) to have identical requests be combined when checked and separated when unchecked.

Id like to see a reopen request feature or just resetting the request to 0 and expiring it in a set time.

I think it should have a grace period for anyone to add more points before locking. Does a 12 hour grace period sound like a good amount?

I'd suggested some time ago that all filled requests be posted after a month or two, and ALWAYS post any request I fill after waiting a while.

Been over this before but I'll toss it out there again.

ALL bounties get posted ALWAYS once filled

Post gets requested. Everyone offers points.

After 2 or more weeks of accumulating points, everyone on the list gets the item. Whoever uploads the place holder first gets all the points then. 2 week countdown starts after its filled.

If your not in by the 2 week cutoff, tuff shyt.

After 2 more weeks it gets posted publicly.

@d0gg0d, Perfect solution! Let's start a movement, we'll make signs and parade around in front of The Zone's headquarters chanting slogans, "Post all filled requests!, post all filled requests!"

@ulysses, I'm not gonna get all worked up over this...again.
Our chief bottle washer and alien overlord runs the place the way he/she/it/collective cosmic brain wants to and I've learned to knuckle under and go with the flow. I've even filled a few requests of items I'd already bought or was going to buy anyway. It doesn't take long to amass waaaay more points than a person would ever use, which for me, takes the incentive out of filling requests. I'm having way more fun and earning a pile more points just posting that stuff I'm getting from the eMule network. I'm also making a bunch of large collections that I'll give away for free of items that are ancient, incomplete or those old .exe's.

Hmmmm, that gives me an idea. I'll see what Warrant63 and Monk think about it.

Look, i’m just trying to make the request page look less cluttered. It would be so easier to search for one item if there wasn’t like 5-6 requests for the same item. I usually wait the 48 hours if something gets filled before i could add some points in, and if it’s not in the blog, nor scheduled, then i would open my own request. I wouldn’t just spam the page because someone was so fast to fill the request, hoping to get one before it fills, just wait people, it’s not that hard to wait 2 full days (or more if it’s scheduled).

Doing a quick search, the oldest post I came across was a contest entry 7 years and 9 months ago. So give or take a bit, Ive been here around 8+ years.
During that time the same subjects pop up at least twice a year. Usually more.
Even with the changes the suggestions are generally the same. After going through multiple changes I thought I liked this new way better but thinking more about it, I think the old way was better. People seemed more involved and it was rare for an item not to go instantly public. All this mess started with point hoarding. Just posting a new item would flood you with points. With just a few shares I was able to download the entire site. The rest of the points would go to contests. And I had way less that some of these whales. Theres no way to spend that many points without offering 100k for every request. Points are essential worthless to them. Whats needed is appreciation for their efforts and that was lost.
I come here more from habit than necessity. Few of the originals are left and only a few interact with the forums. AI stole away several people as well as time. My rant and reflection is over. Just had to vent a bit.

@dOggOd, I agree 100% with your comments, I've also been here since the beginning. I'd like to see an open discussion about the future of the site, maybe in our discord server. I love the culture here but agree that it's changed. I'm sure that most of the old guard is still around, just keeping quiet. I know (or strongly suspect) that @Abad has succumbed to his illness (sniff) and worry about @anjaBear. She said she was recovering but there's been no word from her in over a year (sniff).
A positive note is the recent interest in a contest for a new site banner. I'll donate a bunch of points for that.

@anjabear was ill? damn, i’m sorry to hear that -- i had actually chatted with her quite a bit on discord, but that too was about 3 years ago, i think -- i have long periods of absence, depending on how (non)interested i am in 3d at any given time.

i too noticed that the overall activity on the forums has considerably declined.
