To those who were around, am I misremembering that F95 grew out of AldoRaines efforts to start a place to serve as a mega-repository of links to assets? I have no particular reason, I'm just curious if my memory of events is correct.
I've been around since the early Poser days but that's news to me. Even the name doesn't ring a bell. Do you have any other information? Now I'm curious.
Thanks!Aldo went to a few boards, trying to recruit people to start a site that gathered all the links from all the public sharing sites. His purpose was to have is serve as a "one stop site" for sharing as well as a back-up if other sites go down.
Then it turned into more of a private sharing site and started being more of a gamer community. That's when I lost interest (I have literally zero interest in games). I though it eventually morphed into F95.
There were some folks from here that I remember participated in the initial efforts, including a couple of mods.
That's a noble cause, but our Discord server now serves as a fire escape or rallying point if we go 404. I watch F95 and have gotten a few downloads now and again but it doesn't have anywhere near the Daz items that we have.
@inversekinematics I'm pretty sure the Patreon thing was an April Fool's that might have arrived a day early, depending on where you are on the planet.
