Hello there,
Tracking a few requests, and seeing it's discounts on the products on regular basis, I was wondering if eventually, having a dedicated topic tracking these discounts.
I think some requests are not filled cos of the ratio price vs points earned, and sometime cos you can feel the whole thing is overpriced (which is true in some cases).
But people could change mind spirit if the price is cut by 30/40/50%
This is just a suggestion but I think it would help having requests being filled.wut? Price? People here don't set prices for items. They offer points for items. If the points are too low or the item is too expensive, then they have a harder time being filled. Are you equating the 50 points that you have to "pay" to get an item with a price? Or are you saying the 500 points that someone has to offer to get a request filled is the same as a price? Help me understand what you are saying.
I've always watched requests; plus, seeing the sort of items that are created, sold and then pirated, it's easy to see that price (what you pay at a vendor) has little to do with what finds it's way here. Sleazewear/skimpy stuff/sex toys are by a long ways, the most popular items.
Right now I'm watching that bridal set. it's the second time it's been requested and even though it's over 30K points, there's no share in site. I doubt it ever will show up here.
Last year I watched a large architecture piece go unfilled for months even though it was heavily discounted at some point. I bought it because it's the kind of thing I like, then waited a year before posting it here. It didn't get downloaded too often, certainly not for a large and expensive bundle.If a request doesn't get filled or the item doesn't get shared in a reasonable time and you want it....you're best to just go buy it. It would also be nice if you shared it too.
This is what I'm already doing on my little scale. Some stuff I wanted got a 50% discount, got it, shared it. And that is the whole point of this topic. I wouldn't pay full price for the item, but it was ok at 50%.
Now I don't have hundred bucks to put in Daz items a month, especially as it's a mere hobby and that I'm not making any money out of it. Especially since I'm going through phases where I'm not touching Daz for months before getting back to it.
I don't think I'm the only one who doesn't have a ton of money to spend in Daz, who would eventually get a win/win by sharing stuff with others and getting points, while getting the item they want.

On the DAZ store, you can add items to your wishlist and they'll let you know when they go on sale. And they have "wishlist" sales that give you 25 - 50% (rarely more, but sometimes) on either one item on your wishlist, some number of items, and I've seen at least once, every item on your wishlist (that was a 60% off sale).
@ulysses, I keep reading about people constantly having problems with that in Daz's forums. It seems that Daz likes to remove the discount when you hit the pay button. I never use a wishlist there.

Did you mean the Bridal Bundle for Genesis 9?
Just wondering as it is under 30K and you are not on the request list - or is there another bundle?
Also keeping an eye on similar.That Bridal bundle is a strange one. The 3 dresses are in the already available bundles, the XI Summer Wedding is in the filled and upcoming section. So it's basically 90$ for the 2 texture addons that are 3.99 each right now
@fuzzy3000, Yup! That's the one. It was requested a few months ago and hit 30K points but went unfilled. I'd added 2K points to the request but eventually gave up. This time it's the same but I just removed my points since there's two items (as @trader2h just mentioned) now on sale at an 80% discount. I grabbed them last night and will post them in a few weeks.
I now see the point that @khefrenn made in his first post. It would be handy to be able to mention this sort of thing with requested bundles. It's an example of sleazy Daz marketing to ask 90 bucks for a bundle when some of the items are available cheap. I'm waiting for someone in their forums to make a stink about this.
Well it works as well for RH, Forender, etc.
Take the SF6 Mai bundle on Forender. Price was 27 bucks, which is a lot for a character coming from a video game that you won't be able to use out of specific scenes. Now, it dropped to 18 bucks, making it still a little pricey but way more affordable. The request have been here for a while, and how many people who want the item though " I would get and share it, but bruh... 27 bucks...", not being aware of the discount.All you need to do is boost your points offer on the item concerned.
It will bring it up to the top of the requests section.
You just need to hope that either someone sees it & buys for the share, or at the very least puts another offer on it to keep it visible.I was just checking the Bundles and I saw that the Corset Dress Bundle for Genesis 9 request is basically filled.
All parts of it are already on the blog and the last was shared today and will be visible at the 15th. dForce Gothic Style Outfit for Genesis 9 Texture Add-On.@trader2h, I couldn't find the dforce-kuj-lace-dress-for-genesis-9 on our site.
