I reported this file a few days ago. Not sure if I'm breaking a rule or anything by posting about it here but I just wanted to inform people on the forum about the file. If you look at the shell command sections at the bottom of the report zenbox linux says the file checks for a VM and also autolaunches "a39eb3ed78b7401fb6809ed0c562a5b1" something seemingly unrelated to unpacking. You can google that string of text and see for yourself. I apologize If this is a false positive, but it certainly is strange behavior.
September 12, 2024 at 8:20 AM #2090461I don't use DS anymore so I consider myself vaccinated.
September 12, 2024 at 11:06 AM #2090472.. i don't see any strange files in that zip other than the normal DS files..
.. might be false positives since all the scans say its clean..https://security.stackexchange.com/questions/257064/strange-virustotal-tags-on-pdf-file
https://forum.joomla.org/viewtopic.php?t=1002440.. it pays to be vigilant.. but i wouldn't worry much about this.. 🙂
September 12, 2024 at 12:29 PM #2090476why you don't use daz3D anymore ?
September 12, 2024 at 2:14 PM #2090484September 12, 2024 at 6:44 PM #2090506Thanks, Gladson. I know it comes up clean, but the behavior is what worried me. I'm guessing no one has had a problem with it since it's been up so long. Still just wanted to make someone aware.
September 12, 2024 at 6:49 PM #2090507Makes me wonder if AI decided to act like a virus what would happen.
September 12, 2024 at 8:49 PM #2090516virustotal is pure crap. its only good at spewing false positive
September 14, 2024 at 11:16 AM #2090760Thanks for the warning. Better safe than sorry.
I do agree that Total Virus is over-aggressive. If it were an app that detects Ducks it would work like this:
Does it have feathers?
No = It is not a Duck.
Yes = It is a Duck.September 14, 2024 at 1:29 PM #2090770It's not just being overly aggressive. I've found that more and more, AV companies are calling serial numbers, reg files and crack programs 'viruses and PUPS' (Potentially unwanted programs) under pressure from software companies. The online AV programs like AVG are now aggressively blocking sites like Bunkr simply because they provide services to pirate sites. I have to turn off AVG when I try to download from Bunkr.

"ESET" also blocks me from various sites as "Bunkr".
By the way, what do you think about "Kaspersky"?
September 16, 2024 at 2:30 PM #2091071I used to use Avira until a certain update caused it to to ransack one of my programming directories and quarantine source files and headers, which are all just text files. It left the binaries alone. I've been on Bit-Defender since, with no issues for the past few years.
