So, i got the Following Setup:
C: OS+ Daz Installation (SSD)
D: Daz Content Libary (Nvme SSD) (like 95%Full)It sucks how slow my Stuff is loading into Daz.
I always wonder if it would be a better move to have the DAZ Installation on the same Drive as the Libary?Does someone if there would be any meaningful improvment if i would install Daz on the same path as the Libary? Problem is i got older Version of Daz and dont want to Upgrad to 4.22 :S

If the content is already on a SSD, I don't think it'll make any difference.
A scene with lots of characters, props will obviously take longer to load.
Try removing unnecessary content, especially morphs that you don't use. It should speed up loading times.
Also, I've read that 4.22 is faster at loading scenes, but I don't know if that's true since I use an ancient version of daz.
You might want to try this https://zonegfx.com/turbo-loader-for-genesis-8-and-8-1/
August 8, 2024 at 12:50 PM #2085948As said above using a lot of morphs or having absolutely loads of characters installed will indeed slow things down, so remove any you don't use.
August 8, 2024 at 2:08 PM #2085955Where do Charakter files hide? I mean not the obvious like under People-> charakters, i mean is there some hidden stuff which is not located in the Char-Folders?
I think i may miss something when i start to delet some stuff....Tyvm!
August 8, 2024 at 2:17 PM #2085957And do you think that the slow-down for too many chars just apply in the same Category? Eg Loading a G8 while having a lot of G8?
Or does it expand, like Loading a G9 while having a lot of G8-》 slow down?August 8, 2024 at 2:47 PM #2085963As far as I know, G8 morphs do not affect G9 loading and vice versa. As for morphs, you can find them in the data/ folder of your daz library. If you're going to delete things, be careful not to delete any morphs you're using.
August 8, 2024 at 3:15 PM #2085967If you look at the zip of a single char, you will always find 3 folders: Data,People,Runtime.
The data folder contains the morphs ( maybe few folders down, but stil)
People has the char you see in your Library
Runtime contains a folder textures, were as, the name says it all, you have the textures of a char.
If you got lots to remove, it is faster, to create a new folder where you instal the chars you want to use. After that delete the old lib with characters , and make a new path in daz to the new char folder.
Gen 8 only affects loadingtime gen8, same goes for gen9August 8, 2024 at 4:19 PM #2085972Morphs slow loading of character.
Only solution is eliminating unused morphs.
No changes in installation will help.
Make peanut butter and jelly while character loads.......multi-taskingAugust 8, 2024 at 8:58 PM #2085989"If you got lots to remove, it is faster, to create a new folder where you instal the chars you want to use." +++
Totally agree Gaver. I think a lot of people don't like the idea of deleting characters and/or find it hard to decide which ones to keep or delete, "just in case" they might want then in the future.August 9, 2024 at 3:41 AM #2086024Thanks for all the tips 🙂
I always get nervous to install the chars new in a new folder, is it really that easy?(Not using IM) Feels like it just wont work everytime if i choose another folder on another Drive, MOrphs not working etc.? Do i have to change something to the paths for Daz?
