yo all.
so i have been trying to achieve some type of editing in photohop close to this image (will be shown below), but the more i look at it the more it feels that it has been enhanced with AI.i want to believe that the guy is just really good at editing, but i dont know, it feels like 3d put togheter with AI, even more when you look at other images from him, the editing is not consistent, normaly people tend to be consistent with some type or part of editing but ye.

the guy is this one.
https://www.deviantart.com/shoelac3/art/2024-03-16-1031721311what you pros at AI think? is it or is it not enhanced with AI?
March 17, 2024 at 10:44 PM #2064553I'm no pro but it looks 3D-made to me, with postwork. You don't need AI to produce an image like this. If it was altered in Photoshop then it may involve AI as it's part of the program now. I don't know how much AI needs to be used to classify an image as AI.
March 17, 2024 at 10:48 PM #2064555@frank21 well then let me know your secrets if it doesnt need much to reproduce something like that, and or maybe point me to some tutorials, becuse all i can find as a tutorial is "how to edit your architectural render with photoshop, and or "i edited my viewers photos" on youtube and none good tutorial
March 18, 2024 at 12:02 AM #2064565I didn't say it doesn't take much, just that AI may not be involved. You would still need to know what you're doing though. Why don't you ask ShoeLac3?
March 18, 2024 at 12:34 AM #2064570@frank21 i did, but most of the time people tend to not answer when is someone asking for help unless there is something to be gain with it, and most of the time people will just not help.
March 18, 2024 at 1:16 AM #2064576I think ShoeLac3 is Russian so he/she may not speak much English. He/she doesn't reply to any comments or questions on DA.
March 18, 2024 at 2:00 AM #2064582It's a 3d render edited in Photoshop. The same principles apply to postworking a render as with a normal photo.
There's no quick ''one button'' solution to working in Photoshop; it's a discipline that you learn over time. The most important thing, however, is getting the basics right.
And saying that people won't help because there's ''nothing to gain'' is not necessarily true. A lot of artists who have been generous with their time and knowledge have been exploited by the people they try to help - it happened to me. So, it's understandable that they would be wary of giving up their trade secrets to someone they don't know.
March 18, 2024 at 3:04 AM #2064594Plenty of people sharing info on YT and in forums. Sickle Yield is one that comes to mind often. Most good artist are probably desensitized because of getting flooded with PMs. I don't consider myself good and I get an occasional request on DA to do things I'd rather not. I can only imagine what a popular artist has to filter through. AI seems to be in a drastic surge of popularity so I'd expect floods of questions for those artist. I'm not going to feed Skynet just yet.
March 18, 2024 at 4:06 AM #2064605@tokyiro (et al) In my opinion this is not an AI generated image. It may very well be AI enhanced (within PS, for example, difficult to say with the subtleties found in the program these days, as others have said) but I would not say that on the whole the image was generated with/by AI. Everything within the image can be done with DS imho. DOF and coloration, even without postwork, could be managed by a decent DAZ-only artist. (Though if you look through the artists work they are all highly filtered - and quite well at that.) The telling articles are that the image is too clean for AI (again, other than the filters), and the hair looks modeled. (Unless artists are PS-ing modeled hair into AI images specifically to fool - possible? - it continues to be a tell.)(Also I believe the wings asset is one from DAZ. The socks and shoes assets most certainly are.)(EDIT: Shoes link updated with correct asset.)
Must admit, however, that it would be interesting to have the AI-ists here attempt to replicate it with AI; and exactly how close they could get with as advanced and "controllable" as things have become.
March 18, 2024 at 4:43 PM #2064721i didnt said it was an AI created image, i said/asked if it was enhanced with AI, AI created and enhanced with AI is diferent.
i agree that most artists might be tired of getting "exploited" by the ones asking questions, but saying an youtuber gives help when there is nothing to win is not true, of course i am not talking about all of them, but PA's have alot to win when they give help that being fame and more people checking out theyr products, same with youtubers, if they give help there will be more people cheking theyr youtube channel and more people subscribing, so yes there is something to gain if they help others, and i dont hold it agaisnt them, its just how it is, its life.
on the image topic, i know the hole image is not created with ai, becuse i know parts of the outfits and i know shoelace is a great artist, what i wanted to know is if there is some AI enhancing on it and/or if someone has any good photoshop tutorials to help me achieve something close to it or at least to help me learn more about photoshop.
March 18, 2024 at 4:57 PM #2064722You can get a similar result from something like this:
Use a 3d software like DAZ and create the basis image in 3d, then run it through stable diffusion img2img with a low denoising strength (definitely less than .50, maybe try .25 to begin,if its too strong or weak then adjust),and also have good prompt to get the style you want and good negative prompt. Then use photoshop to remove any strange deformities or whatever else is needed, Then take a good result from that and try running it through Lightroom with some good settings to get the look and colors just right. Its just one way to do it, but that's what I personally would try if I wanted to create something like that
March 18, 2024 at 8:39 PM #2064742Probably right but I don't see Sickle becoming the next Mr Beast or suddenly being picked up by Pixar for sharing how to use the canvas option in a 20 year old program. Nobody gets rewards for posting advice on forums. If anything they usually suffer from trolling. Something I participated it occasionally. Maybe...Just perhaps, there are a few people that help others because they feel its the right thing to do. I know that's an odd concept coming from a pessimist like me but I think its possible just not common.
March 18, 2024 at 10:23 PM #2064750@D0gg0d Absolutely. I've been working with Photoshop since 2009 and even though I did get a few decent commissions, I never became wealthy as a result. Also, there are a lot of people out there who think it's just a matter of applying a few filters in Photoshop and it's as simple as that.
@Tokyiro There are so many Photoshop tutorials out there, all you need to do is search. I posted one on achieving realism right here on the blog a year or so ago. There are plenty more besides. There are also good AI tutorials out there. Google is your friend.March 18, 2024 at 11:23 PM #2064757Good points Charley. With regard to AI tutes just make sure they're not too old. A lot has changed over the past 12 months so many of the installation and user guides are no longer valid.
