Someone will know that I'm not dedicated to making "pretty" renders: I'm more focused on applied physics and mathematics, more on trigonometry (not Euclidean...) A few days ago, trying to solve retarget errors, I came face to face with the DQS "Dual quaternion skinning" and its difference with LBS "linear blend skinning". I have to be honest: I have never used or known this. I think D|S uses DQS, but both techniques generate "artifacts" when they deform a mesh.
Disney uses "another variant"... despite the fact that their studios use Autodesk Maya and MotionBuilder, yes or yes. However, they use "our method"... Despite looking for information about it, it seems that nothing exists...

I will answer you because you like applied physics and mathematics

    Many thanks @lucafeelgood.
It did not occur to me to search for it by the title of the video: Youtube is not very scientific. But, there is an implementation of this algorithm wonderfully, and ... where did it have to be? 🙂

@ethiopia. Well I don't know nothing about applied physics, mathematics, trigonometry and so on. I had nothing to do, I was bored and I wanted just to answer Abad with his TYPICAL ABAD QUESTIONS. 😎

I have to clarify my "typical" questions. Don't worry, I will never ask about "what outfit is this model wearing?, etc...".
When I graduated in industrial design, my final project was based on mathematically possible objects, but not Euclideans: Neither the same teachers nor my classmates understood me a damn..., and that was done with Grasshopper from Rhino 5...
Normally, I use Wolfram's Mathematica, Solidwork for CAD/CAE. The Maya, MotionBuilder and Daz thing came later...
If you are not used to all that, it is better to start with a simple program that uses 4th dimensions applied to the real projective plane.
I know it's a strange "world", but everyone has their tastes..

Y'all reminded me of this demo

Tell me you wouldn't kill to use that?

Also, I know nobody was wondering, but Abad's cute new avatar is Arale.

    @gelstat
Mais non!! Je parle un peu français, donc je sais a quel point ça sonne mal. =^-^=

I'm only angry because now I had to use Character Map to get a cedille to use 🙂

    1) Subs, Not Dubs. You will never change my mind on that.

    2) @lucafeelgood - that was pretty informative. I never knew Disney had a research division - now I'm gonna spend way too much time on that site. The AI is kind of a turnoff, though the rest looks real intriguing.

I think it would be better to put aside my avatar of Arale from the Japanese series "Dr.Slump", made much earlier by Toriyama than his "Dragon Ball", and let's think away from feelings: Let's be scientists.
Here is a kind of plugin for Maya in the WIP period, which has never seen the light of day... (The problem is adapting VS2013!!! to VS2019 and its includes dependencies to the necessary path...), and, then, adapt to Maya 2022/2023... UNF!

... not to mention it also employs Qt framework for the Maya UI. Qt is vastly different in the last iteration!
    Meep! >.<
