I remember an app that interfaced with DS (and other 3D software) that allowed a user to put an image on the workspace of the modeling workspace. You could control the size, opacity, etc and basically use it to "trace" the shapes you were modeling. Does anyone remember what this software is/was? TIA

Throwing it out there but I think you're looking for something else.

    Sounds a little like this:

I'm not sure but I think there was a product from Emma and Jordi that could show a reference image in Daz, but I don't which features it has.

Yeah, that's not the one. The one I'm looking for worked with almost all modeling software. I'm actually planning on using is with blender. Thanks anyway Cage.

Hi SonyTony, I'm not looking to import an image. I'm looking for an app (I think it's about 3 years old) that places an image on your screen and you can move it over the workspace, adjust the opacity so that you can see your model behind the image and allows you to sculpt your model by tracing the transparent image.

yeah bud your way over thinking it.

Blender has a freed plugin (you have to activate it in prefs) called image as pane

    shift A
    Images
    Image as Pane.

I usually try to get a front side image then import 2 image panes and line them up and work off that.

no need for a special program at all.

    hope this helps out
