Spent a lot of time trying to dforce the Boyfriend Shirt Dress with a bikini underneath. i tried geometry shells for the figure and/or the bikini with the shell as the collision object, adjusted iterations, no joy.
adding dforce dynamic surface to the bikini and making the different garments on seperate layers within Surfaces, the bikini being on a layer below the boyfriend shirt. even tried a push modifier but that distorts the shape ugly.
Maybe I'm just not doing all this right. From the start the boyfriend shirt needs a lot of adjustment to fit over the busty girl with the included item morphs, fit control and meshgrabber, which in itself seems to make matters worse as the shirt looks unnatural and still clips in to the bikini. whats a good way to do this?
October 15, 2020 at 10:50 AM #1635352Have you added or turned on smoothing? That sometimes helps.
October 15, 2020 at 10:59 AM #1635355@plebby, yep, i turn smoothing on after running the simulation and adjust the iterations as well as switching fit shapes from base to generic, before or after the simulation, it helps but it's still not there. i don't know how the promos got like that, i'm guessin it must have to do with bend stiffness and those settings...
October 15, 2020 at 10:59 AM #1635356Ignore my reply. I just noticed you'd adjusted the smoothing iterations.

October 15, 2020 at 11:50 AM #1635372Have you tried changing the shirts 'Fit to' from the Figure your using to the bikini?
October 15, 2020 at 11:56 AM #1635374@amberleaf, nope, i haven't tried that, will give that a go. wanted to do that with the geometry shell but it wasn't listed as an option.
October 15, 2020 at 12:02 PM #1635376hi try simulation settings collision layer set two 2 or moor that sometimes works some times you can fit the deforce garment to the under garment in its fit 2 &collision item in the parameters tab hope this helps

October 15, 2020 at 12:48 PM #1635384@amberleaf, @harveymac1, hi 🙂
Setting the shirt's "fit to" and collision item as the bra along with 10 iterations has eliminated the clipping with it. Nice 🙂 It made some minor clipping in several places with the figure that I sorted with a push modifier set to a low 0.1; however it now has major clipping with the figure's bum 🙂
Still, thank you!
I think it will require playing with some of the settings in "surfaces" like collision offset, bend, stretch, density. But I haven't used those before so I will have to dig into that.October 15, 2020 at 1:57 PM #1635400I found the bikini from the promos, it's a skin tight geoshell. Much easier to work with. it's in the dforce wet and dry babydoll outfit.
October 16, 2020 at 9:34 PM #1635663Another thing to try when this happens is to set the object scale a couple percent higher on frame zero of your drape animation and then drop it back to default at the frame where your pose is set. This will slowly lower the size over time and often dForce will conform better.
You can also work from the other direction, setting a morph to 1% at frame zero and what you want it set to at the base pose frame - this works especially well for nipple morphs, which have a really annoying habit of poking through due to lack of poly count over that area in most clothing.
There are some other good tricks you can do with gravity on some types of objects to make them "grow" into your pose. Selective use of the freeze sim and hide object functions for problem nodes is useful as well, especially with dForce hair.
October 16, 2020 at 10:16 PM #1635673I find Fit Control very useful.
Mind you I only do single frame renders & totally avoid using dForce.
🙂October 16, 2020 at 11:07 PM #1635682Fit Control is an interesting product. For something that's called "fit" it usually ends up making your clothes look like they are something hovering around your figure rather than actually fit on them. The chest morphs, especially - Fit Control has a habit of making a simple t-shirt look more like like a medieval breastplate.
October 16, 2020 at 11:44 PM #1635683That depends on the character morphs & how you dial in the multiple additional morphs provided in the clothing.
