So, in my quest to get as many DAZ files as possible (And convert them to DIM format) I finally came across one that I cannot find the SKU for: ps_ac193b - THE MANSION - Great Room.
ps_ac161b - THE MANSION - Music Room is SKU 441.
Does anyone know where I can find that SKU? There is no page on any of the DAZ sites for this item.
The Readme does not have a link in it (Usual way I find the SKU) and basically everywhere I have searches I have not found it.
Help is greatly appreciated.September 25, 2019 at 5:38 AM #1259919September 25, 2019 at 5:56 AM #1259932You are a freaking Genius!!!! 🙂 Thank You!!!
September 25, 2019 at 6:58 AM #1259991@tysim1966/ thank you! but I'm not 🙂 I'm newbie and I don't know what you are using this number for? I would be grateful if you could explain how you do the conversion!
September 25, 2019 at 1:44 PM #1260345Doing the conversion is kind of simple, and kind of not.
The SKU number is what the IM number is for the products that were in executables before.
So, for Example, Michael 1 is sku number 3 and his IM number would be IM00000003 making his proper file name: IM00000003-01_MillenniumManMichael1.zipTo Convert an exe, you have to create a sandbox area to install to.
The first thing to install is the sandbox is the Genesis starter essentials.
Take those files after install, and move them to another directory somewhere, you may need them in a few....
Now, run the installer and point to the sandbox. Always do a custom install if given the option.
If the file requires Genesis, you will get an error message pop up saying that it is required (or it could say a dependency file was missing) At that point, move the Genesis files you saved to the sand box.
Clear the error message and click next. As soon as it moves to the next page, click on your sandbox and select "undo move" or "undo copy" whichever you did to get the gen files in the sand box.
Finish the installers. (if it is a multiple part installer, you do not need to do the Gen file thing again after the first)
Now, most files have a readme folder that is created. I recently found out that those of very low numbers do not. Either way, go to the readme and then pics folder and move the pic (numbered like the installer or with the sku) to the sandbox proper. If there is no Pic in the readme, scour the web to find the proper pic.At this point, I personally delete the Readme folder (unless it has real instructions in it) I also go to the runtime folder and delete the weblinks folder if it is there.
If there is not one already in the Runtime folder, create a Support folder in the Sandbox Proper. Older exe's have no pictures or metadata, so you have to make the image file for the icon.Icon photos for daz use this format DAZ_3D_3_Millennium_Man_Michael_1 where that first number is the sku.
Rename the photo to that convention (Must be a jpg or png file)
Move the Photo to the Support folder, Move the support folder into the Runtime older, and move all the folders into the zip file.DAZ has a content package assist program. IM00030735
It is all over the web if you do not have it.
Run that program.
Drag and drop your zip file there.
IF everything is right, you should have a picture and the numbering convention should match.
Make sure in the Product Name line, to add appropriate spaces. Words like of, the, for and such do not get a proper space by the program because they are not capitalized.
In the compatibility tags I select all the DAZ and the DSON importer. You can make that the default in the settings.
Also in the settings, there is an option to "Automatically clean the Support directory" IF you are doing DIM files, turn that off. If you are converting Renderosity files or others, turn in on.
I always make my dims in my holding directory (which I set in the option called download directory) When everything looks right, Click the make button and select the download folder option (Is easier this way) When the line at the bottom finishes, the package is made. Click the Start over button in the program, and click yes. It is now ready for the next one.At this point, your sandbox should be clear, and the package creator should be clear so you can move on to the next one.
I have created a massive spreadsheet with all the SKUs I could scrap off of multiple sites. BUT, some do not exist, like the one I mentioned. With that information, I have also created a query on the sheet that allows me to automatically generate the proper file names mentioned above. (It also tells me if I need it in my collection as well along with a bunch of other things)
That makes it so I do not get an errors when I make the packages. So there you have it @MJT I hope that helps.
September 25, 2019 at 6:25 PM #1260644I should add, the above only works for DAZ/Poser content.
If you are doing Carrara or Bryce, then the main directory needs to be changed before making the file, and after it is made, you have to do a copy paste in the manifest file with the program information (See one of the files to get what you need)September 30, 2019 at 5:08 PM #1267316@tysim1966 Thank you so much for the time you spent explaining. You didn't mention me, so I didn't see your comment. I just wanted to see this post again and I realized. I appreciate it very much.
September 30, 2019 at 5:45 PM #1267345@javadgorgani Sorry I tagged @MJT - Thought that would do it.
I am glad you found it useful, if you have any questions, feel free to ask.
