For time out of mind, the entire idea of speeding down a snowy slope on something slim and flexible has been considered fun. As close to flight as early man could get, sledding continues to be a popular pastime even today. Whether old-style laminate wood sleds, the metal-railed styles of the 20th century, or today's plastic toboggans, sleds are a wonderful winter toy!
