Genesis 9 to Genesis 9 Partial/Full Pose Transfer
Stop rebuilding poses from scratch. This script copies a pose (the whole figure or just one region) from any Genesis 9 figure onto another, directly inside the scene. No plugin, no preset library, just source, target, and the region you want.
What it does
Transfers full body poses between two Genesis 9 figures in seconds
Transfers a single region instead: arms, legs, torso, head and neck, or hands, with right/left/both side control
Falls back to a manual bone selection for anything outside the built in regions
Leaves the target figure's scene position untouched unless you're doing a full body transfer
Why it's useful
Most rigs and pose libraries assume you want the whole pose or nothing. In practice, the pose you actually need rarely exists as a single preset. You want this figure's arm gesture with that figure's leg stance, or you need to fix just the head tilt without disturbing the rest of a pose you already like. Rebuilding that by hand, bone by bone, is slow and easy to get wrong.
This script skips the manual work. Point it at any two Genesis 9 figures with poses already applied, pick a region, and only that region moves. Everything else on the target figure stays exactly as it was.
The core use case: mixing full poses
You don't need a library of partial pose presets to get partial results. Since the script pulls regions directly out of any full pose already applied to a figure, you can treat your existing full poses as a parts bin:
Take the arm position from one full pose and the leg position from another
Borrow just a hand gesture from a pose you like, without touching the rest of your current pose
Build a new pose by combining regions from three or four different references, iterating fast since each transfer takes seconds
Keep a "library" of favorite full poses and mix and match from them instead of maintaining separate partial pose files for every limb combination
Other use cases
Fixing a single limb after a pose transfer or IK adjustment threw it off, without redoing the whole pose
Matching one character's pose to a reference figure's stance, one body part at a time, for comparison or continuity across a scene
Quickly testing how a different arm or head angle reads on a figure before committing to it, using an existing pose as the source
Works in DAZ Studio's native script format. Run it from the Content Library like any other script.
