I'm curious, what is new in ZoneGFX 5.0? There doesn't seem to be a thread anywhere listing what's new and different. The popup when you login every day looks different and the site now does a second sort of refresh after loading a page, where it fades to black and then back again for a second. Why does it do that; what is the purpose of it?
Also, do we now get separate categories for Unreal and Blender assets, with ZoneGFX 5.0, or do people still just publish those in the DAZ asset categories? Are there better filtering tools for categories? Whatever changes there are, were they big enough to say "this is such a big improvement we can say this is an entirely new version of the site" or was the version increase just an aesthetic one to make it seem like there's development and changes to the site as a whole?idk about anything specific they did but it does seem to load a lot faster now than prior at least

I think it's awful. What's the point of it? It's okay in a disco or at a party, but we don't need special effects and silly stuff here on the website? What a joke.

Or maybe they fussed around with it for so long that they broke something. I hope they can fix it and make this “fade” disappear.but it does seem to load a lot faster
That is absolutely correct.
The 1-second fade seems to appears only in the Night mode. I just tryed the Day mode and got no glitch at all but I prefer the dark mode despite this lil' problem.
I'm glad to see the fade isn't just something on my side. When I posted this, I considered it might be a glitch on my side. I can agree it does seem the pages load faster, but that fade makes it feel like it takes longer.
I would have rather seen some other changes or additions, like adding more categories for posting for assets like Blender and Unreal, to make it more apparent what certain assets are for. There's already enough confusion with different character generations and people new to DAZ not properly understanding what works with which character.

I’m strictly on dark mode, and I hope they address this soon. It’s yet another reason I don’t spend much time here anymore. Things were fine before — never touch a running system
Well, to give balance, I tried the dark mode when it was first introduced & really disliked it.
I even find the mode switch at the bottom left an unwelcome distraction.You can't please all the folk all the time & YMMV.

There are people reporting all sorts of issues, on the Discord. I suspect more problems are going to start showing up in the next couple of weeks.
As for dark mode vs normal, leave it on 'day' mode and use the 'Dark-Reader' add-on to change the page-render to whatever suits you. I use it on all sites, never had any idea there was a 'fade-in' until I saw this thread.
Is the issue solved ?? if not clear your browser cache
