I hope this isn't the way we're heading with PCs. Daz, Adobe, NTXT what's next? You will own nothing and be happy?
This will be like microtransactions; as long as there are are enough whales to sustain this practice, it will thrive (but my guess is that it won't work in this case -hopefully-)
The thing that makes me angry are the NZXT Youtube influencers selling their souls for quick cash. The scam is obviously targeted at young people and the poor.

I wonder how they plan to deal with component malfunctions...

I saw something about this when I was looking at youtube earlier tonight. Saw what the costs would be for one computer. Crazy. And no thanks.
JayzTwoCents has now cut NZXT adrift. It's a huge outfit so bad reviews may not make much difference to their bottom line. They have responded with "we are actively reviewing’, like they had no idea what they were doing.

Even putting it on a credit card and paying off over 12/18months would be preferable....

this is the reason I pirate much more often... too much greed nowadays with many things. Whether its art programs, games etc
everything's so full of subs and microtransactions now. Miss the days when you'd buy something you'd immediately get the complete item.It is still out there, but relatively it is getting rarer.
I prefer the old fashioned way.
Do a deal face to face, & hopefully both parties walk away happy.

The NZXT renting program aint really a new thing. Ever seen this picture? Thats exactly what they were offering. You pay them a monthly fee and they would send new a PC when they thought it would be appropriate. Just like with NZXT its always gonna be better to buy your own PC and upgrade when you decide to do so.
