So last night I was searching and searching for for reference material for Dragon's Lair. I knew there were a lot of 3d print models for Dirk but they were all horribly made. Then I found this artstation 3d render and it was damn near perfect. Unfortunately it wasn't for sale or download BUT.. someone got a hold of that model and boned it and everything then put it on a site: Can't post?
It used a plug-in that would be required to use the animations (which in turn caused anyone without the plug-in to get a blob of geometry). Well I didn't much care about the animations or the rigging because I needed it for Daz studio so I deleted all their animations and boning and luckily the original figure was reborn!!! 🙂
I exported it out of MAYA and geometry edited out the figure and created several pieces out of all the clothing. Then I used their Dirk likeness and tried to recreate it best I could without the Gen 8 characters face deforming. This is what I came up with. Now I need to take that mesh and run it through Marvelous designer. Hoping for the best it should look and work pretty well as a gen 8 conforming outfit.
Not sure if this Dirk character morph I've created is the final iteration but I think it looks decent enough.
What do you guys think?

Honestly I left because I said in enjoyify's contest that would be my first and last competitions. I don't like losing, if I don't enter, I can't lose. 😛
@spats Thanks for all the suggestions. I already have her outfit though.. well that portion of it. I'll post images later. I'm having some issues with posting images in postimage later and also I have another daz instance open right now. It is this outfit: https://zonegfx.com/dare-converted-from-g3f-for-genesis-8-females/ I posted the wrong one earlier by the same creator.Don't worry. I plan to finish this trio of characters, at least them. Again, maybe Eve too from DL2.
I DON'T PLAN ON ANIMATING IT. I had hard enough time with making F'n christmas lights light up. 😀
If you really want to speed up this process, you could help me find some hairs that will match up with Daphne's. I don't expect it to be a single hair prop so don't worry about that.

I like to join for fun not points, since most of my renders start out as trying clothes on doll then I end up making a whole pic.. but the contest gives me something structured to do that I actually have to think about lol I'm going to put my pic back up but not for contest just for fun
maybe since there is another week for some to summit, more will do a render too ! Please put your two back up they were great 😁
I'm just glad this contest we don't have to vote thats the hardest part for me I just can't do it...

as a matter of fact they are all awesome to me I love looking at others artwork very inspiring 🙂@adelasia Agreed on all points made. Absolutely no reason for everyone to not be on board. Good, community-building fun. (And also I have a very hard time voting as well. Also relieved it's out of my hands on this one. Especially with all the great entries.)(Points are arbitrary to me still. I've never been a millionaire - in points or IRL - and treat things similarly: Get what you need, use what you have, give away what you're gifted. I'll likely donate again to another contest, whether entered or not, to encourage the upward spiral that is artistic creation here. Really good stuff to see.)

@Kefka I'll keep an eye out for hair(s). Those can be really tough, depending on the concept. In the case of Daphne, man, there are some, but that's a LOT of hair, and all different shapes and styles from head to... "toe". Maybe dForce would cover the shaping to the char, maybe not. Preserving those end curls that snap-back would be the hardest part. Maybe with weight mapping. Dunno. Will look.Oh for god's sake, "I left because you left.. so you left because I left."
After teaching for 22 years I've heard this playground banter more times than I'd like to remember.
I left it to the last moment and dragged my sorry arse into action because, well because I didn't have any excuses to not to enter just one image, and I thought it would be interesting to test myself under pressure to produce something.

Dirk looks great.Okay. I'm just going to drop this off here for now. It's a full body Dirk the Daring morph. I learned a few new tricks in Zbrush and figured out how to combine all morphs. Now I see why all those samey looking character morphs 'sculpted in zbrush' look like any other morph you see sold on those sites.. They didn't sculpt s**t, they just ran it through zbrush and combine a bunch of different morphs from other characters into a single dial and package. I have never used zbrush before starting my work on the dragon. So now that I learned a little more I hope to apply that back and forth between the Dragon's Lair characters until I feel they are good enough. Then I will share them with the community.
ANYWAY, I did sculpt this, mostly 😉 , but it isn't perfect. Let me know what you think, what could be changed or fixed or whatever. I focused mainly on the face and just made sure the body was going to fit within the outfit.
(Oh, I did accidently have a expression applied at one time and totally fucked up the symmetry, then saved and quite. SO, yeah, I can't or don't know how to fix that and I'm to lazy to start over)
I will get around to converting the Dirk outfit probably this weekend.
