It's a relatively new feature, meant for releasing previously requested items with a delay.
Check out the sticky topics in https://zonegfx.com/forums/forum/request/ to find out more about fulfilled requests, and the expectations of release to the public blog.

Sometimes, some granted requests are never released to the blog at all. The good news is, if you see one of the "coming soon" posts, it IS going to be in the blog, you'll just have to wait a bit.

ok, i read that thread, but i'm still confused why the posting at a later day is even a thing.

why would you want or need to delay posting an item?

If you're eager for a download, the quickest way to get it is to either 1) participate in the Request forum or 2) private message the member who fulfilled the request and offer points for the download link.

Scheduled Posting is done for a few reasons. Personally, I do it because I want to give the original creator time to make money on new releases before they get out to the high seas. I also do it to give a small benefit/incentive for the members who participate in the Request threads. One week isn't that long to wait. 😉

Edit: I think the most common reason is so that fulfillers have time to receive points from people who offered them in the Request thread. People don't always respond with points immediately. If there wasn't a delay before posting, then some folks wouldn't send points, they would just grab it on the blog.

Because there is no reason to make things simple when you can make them convoluted

I understand the rationale - the people who offer points (500pts, 1000 pts, etc) in the Request forum for an item can get first crack at it once someone fulfills the request. Everyone else shells out 50pts for it later.

It's a way for requested items to get posted for general release, because otherwise that item might not ever make it out to general posting.

Correct - not everyone who fills a request does it, but it helps present the opportunity to do so, while still encouraging requests.

I've re-read this and other forum threads, and i really do not get the reason for listing and item and saying that it will be posted next week. what is the point?

i don't see how that generates more interest in the item – you either want it or you don't. plus, i sometimes forget about an item and I don't think they are relisted so they appear at the top of the listings.

as for waiting so the creator has time to get the profits from selling the item – I'm sorry but that is ridiculous. if you saw it listed here why pay when you can get it next week – unless you needed it immediately and i can't imagine that happens much. also, let's not kid ourselves, if we cared about the creators making money we all wouldn't be on this site.

(before everyone jumps on me, i pay for content, but this site gives me alot more choices in my art if i only paid. also, this seems to happen to me all the time but i'll see something that looks great, but when i load it up it always disappoints.)

sorry for the rant, love you all...

For me this is the single most logical reason why we have delayed posts. If things get leaked too quickly, those who provide them may just say fuck it and stop making stuff. I've got a few things I'm sitting on for the same reason.

How much $$$ are you paying for it? None. Oh Right.

The point of giving the original creator and the original poster a chance to benefit from its release is spot on.

I know i've been inactive in chats for quite some time, but it's the same stuff over and over, you want it now... go buy it.

Remember that once a product is shared to the blog here, it quickly gets re-posted to a number of other pirate sites. It gets out into the wild and spreads widely. HOWEVER, most of the people who download from those other sites do NOT visit here. Those people are not aware that it will be released in a week.

I tagged a few of my early shares to see where they ended up. It was easy to see that I was the source on every single re-share on every other pirate site I checked. THAT is what I'd like to limit.

I can't know for sure, but I'd bet that the number of downloads directly from here is dwarfed by the number of collective downloads on the other pirate sites.

And as I mentioned before, you only have to wait one short week! 🙂

There really isn't a way to keep it from being shared is there 🙁 Even if we used passwords or encryption keys, someone will still betray us.
