This may come across as being a dumb question,
but I will ask in public for the benefit that it may help others as well.

I just happen to be looking at my profile and I think can change my username.

Can i really change my name? And will the account still stay the same and keep the points history etc.
I have no friends but what will change if i change the name? Just the name?

I always thought you were stuck with whatever your email was that you registered with.

Never wanted globalrecession2009 thats for sure. What a dumbass name that is.

@globalrecession2009 If you have ever got things from the Requests Forum you'd noticed if you tried to use the @ ... name thing to link users sometimes the names don't match their accounts.

I believe that if you change your username visibly on here that it will show as the new name, but the name you originally signed in on would be you @ ...name.

Example, my friend Joaline has the underlying name Joaline1985 so if I wanted to get her attention in a post I would have to use the 2nd one with the @ sign in it or she won't get it.

So unless you hear otherwise, your "globalrecession2009" will remain in the background with all your points intact, just your visible name would change.

Don't take my word for it, but ask an admin like @hunter or @tomsk if that is correct.

That's just my 2 cents, but i don't mind your name dear Global. ^_^
    I find it original.

Not all name need to be flashy or have a meaning. Has long as it's not a gibberish clusterfuck of unpronunciable letter put together.

This is why i don't mind my name. Back then, i too didn't "check it right" (get it ?! Checkit!) and made my account without checking the name. But now, i just don't mind and it doesn't bother me.

Also, because of you, we'll always be remembered of 2009's global recession. ^_^ Ha ha ha ha!

    I changed it but ...lol
I felt lost, It just didn't look right. So i changed it back.
Its been so long I may as well leave it as is.

But at least I know i can change it.

I always wondered how people could come in and have regular names.

Actually while i remember........i see your friend has Joaline and joaline1985.

Now when you want to send her or him a pm you click on the name and it takes you to another page where you can hit a send private message.

I always seem to have problems sending somepeople a message.
    I type it out and
I click send message and nothing will happen it will ask for the persons name.

But the person icon is already there in the message window thing. If i leave it blank and just have subject and then message then it will go through, but other times it will ask for a name, and even if i put the name in there it wont send.
Half the time when i send a message its a fluke if it gets through, sometimes i think i have even tried like, i hover over the name and i see another name show up that will be the same name but say with a number 3 example only.......and then when i paste that into the name it will send....but thats not the persons name that i am wanting to message.........I still dont really know how this forum works after a year lol......i only just finally mastered the art of getting a picture to show up in a post. hate that members have 2 names. It was very confusing as a new member.
