After multiple attempts to get my PC to play nice with Daz I have come to the conclusion that it is not meant to be. Not only does it take over an hour to render an image with a figure in it, but also freezes up constantly.
Alas, that means I have no need for all these points. Luckily, I have an idea as to what to do with them.
If it's good with everyone, I would like to setup a monthly contest of my own. Similar to the ones in the past, but it would be bankrolled from my points & no others would be accepted.
I was thinking of starting in January rather than shoveling more before the new year.Just out of curiosity, what are your system specs?
Some people would say an hour is reasonable of Iray.Daz Studio needs a Nivida GPU for rendering with Iray, so your renders are only using your CPU = slow. 8GB of RAM is not enough, 16GB bare minimum, probably why you're getting freezes. I like your idea of a monthly contest, but considering the numbers of members we have, very few every take part in art comps.
Yes, you certainly need a more muscular rig to take on IRay.
An Nvidia card & more RAM at least.

Hahaha I'm running an 8gb laptop with shared graphics memory! TBH yes it takes forever to render and I'm certain that more RAM and a dedicated graphics card would speed things up AND give me better results but I just leave it running overnight.
Unless I win the lottery I doubt my rendering life will change much, but it's been keeping my locked up sickness filled existence going for quite some while...
daz should fix genesis chars to have what that vicky has. i can barely render 2 figures. But i am happy, i assume daz by doing what it does, it doesnt want my money hence how i found this site 😀
