Hello, has anyone used the Utopia Cityscapes product (https://www.daz3d.com/utopia-cityscape-blocks)? I am trying to turn the lights on for a night render, but cannot find the emissives setting anywhere. Is it made differently than other building products? Any help appreciated.
September 11, 2018 at 1:50 AM #755855Since they do not seem to be on here, maybe you'd be nice and share them, then we can test 😉

It is on here (https://zonegfx.com/utopia-cityscape-blocks/)
But in the description it says "This product contains only the Poser files!"
That could be your problem.Cheers
TonySeptember 11, 2018 at 11:48 AM #756342Yeah, I haven't found any version that has the DS files shared. It's the same with "8130 - City Courtyard", just poser files.
September 11, 2018 at 12:07 PM #756362If you're stuck, have you tried (https://zonegfx.com/future-cityscape-density-blocks/)?
September 11, 2018 at 4:07 PM #756572@evilmonkey @sonytony, thanks for the feedback. Yeah, I got them from here and there is an emissive setting buried in each of the buildings, but when I add the emissive shader, I get a brown block instead of the white or yellow light I add. I really like some of the buildings and would like to use them if I can work this out. Have used the future cityscape blocks but wanted to try this out.

Something like that?
September 12, 2018 at 1:35 PM #757730Here is the same issue with the haunted house. Emissives are on, color is pale yellow and renders out brown
And while we're talking about renders, why do my sky domes always render black? I know it is something to do with render settings, but I have played around with them and nothing changes.
September 12, 2018 at 4:52 PM #757935First: have you changed all your shaders to Iray Uber (first, before doing anything else)? DAZ Default won't work, it's still 3DL
September 12, 2018 at 6:03 PM #758006@errihl, Yes, changed to iray uber then added emissive shaderm then created color for emissive. Just brown blah.
September 12, 2018 at 7:10 PM #758072@techsnoop You have to make sure your dome is set to render dome "YES" in environment under render settings. And make sure the proper skydome is selected to render.
Emissives: You still cant just change everything to emissives and voila it works.
You have to go in and tweak settings when converting.
For the windows/lights, find the windows/lights in surfaces, then all you have to do is make sure the emissive is using the same jpg image as the diffuse(or base) , then bump up the luminance setting to your liking. This one uses windows4.jpg
September 12, 2018 at 7:11 PM #758074OH, and change the emissive color to white.

September 13, 2018 at 3:45 AM #758445@drgnmztr. I did not just change everything to emissive, I specifically chose the windows/lights and changed just those. I tried both white and light yellow colors for the colors. Please note the picture example I attached in one of my posts. The brown spots are where I selected the iray uber/emissive and it rendered brown.
For the dome, I have set it to render yes and selected the correct dome and it always renders out black. When I select render scene only, the scene renders.
I have followed the conventional settings and am looking for deeper trouble shooting perhaps with something not obvious or usual settings. At this point, I am wondering if it is a glitch in Daz and I need a re-install. I just don't want to update to Daz 4.10. Thanks for your input.September 13, 2018 at 7:44 AM #758661@techsnoop I only mentioned changing everything due to Errilhls comment. I personally , most oftentimes, just select all and change everything to iray, then go in and apply the emissives and/or shaders on only what I want.
I gave you a more "in depth" tutorial than anyone else, explaining exactly what to do in order for the windows to show up, going further than JUST changing to iray. Also, I don't use the emissive "shader" (where the iray shader is located at). There's no reason to do so.
FYI, for some reason I'm unable to view imgr pics anymore. I can't even view my own gallery anymore, so I stopped using imgur.
I'm trying to help you.
I did it your way and it didn't work.I got the brown after applying the emissive shader.

Then I went back, reloaded the building, went to surfaces, selected windows, applied Uber Base ONLY, then went back to surfaces, under base for windows, I chose no image for the windows and changed the color to yellow. Then I went down to emission, and changed the color to yellow also. This is presuming you want no window graphics and just colors.

So, you can follow my directions and have lighted windows, or not.In regards to the skydome, I have had the same issue. But not on everything. I don't know which one you're using, but if you tell me, maybe I can help you figure it out. I'm not an expert on the skydomes as I usually just use the lighting from them and then create my own skies in other programs.
I highly doubt you need to reinstall DS. -
