Anyone know any good animal tails for the Genesis 8 series that can be fitted to the model without going wonky?
December 19, 2018 at 2:06 AM #886620there's only three that I know of.
Cat tail from Cat World for Genesis 8
Succubus tail from Infernal Succubus Outfit and Add-Ons for Genesis 8 Female
Scorpion tail from Tara 2 HD for Victoria 7 & Victoria 8December 19, 2018 at 6:54 PM #887442Well, i took quite a bit of time to search and browse Daz Store for you and here is that i also found. Keep in mind though that i never tested nor own any of these, so i don't know how they work exactly.
For Genenis 8 female, there is also this character morph:
https://www.daz3d.com/cleo-the-cheetah-girl-for-genesis-8-femaleI don't know if the tail is a morph or a prop though and how it work. The product description doesn't explain really how it work. But on some promo picture, we get to see the morphed character with a tail and without a tail, so i assume there is some seperate function for the tail. Maybe. Would recommand you do more research about it if you want to try that one.
Genesis 8 male has this unusual character:
https://www.daz3d.com/oso-furries-otter-for-genesis-8-maleIt does specifie it as a "tail prop", so i assume it some kind of add-on you auto-fit to the Otter morph. I don't know...
If you are looking again more toward a "feline" tail prop
https://www.daz3d.com/nyao-outfit-for-genesis-8-females
And
https://www.daz3d.com/dforce-kitty-sweater-for-genesis-8-female-s
both have a "tail" prop attach to their piece of clothing that have quite a few customization and morph built in them.
Maybe it could be an easier solution for what you are trying to do by fitting that piece of clothing to your character and just remore/make invisible the clothing to just let the tail show. With the same technique, you could also use maybe those two different tail if you are looking a not feline tail.
Here is a "horse like/ fox like" tail prop
https://www.daz3d.com/i13-foxy-outfit-for-the-genesis-3-female-s
And a "kinda looking" scorpion like tail prop
https://www.daz3d.com/2075-feral-assassin-x-for-genesis-3-female-sBoth these are like the cat tail above, props clothing built with morph. They are for Gen3, but again, maybe you can just toy/tweek them a bit and "stick" them in your character's...err..rear end. I don't know....
Utimatly, if you just can't find anything that seem to suit what you are trying to do, and want to maybe try to "custom" your own tail, with texture and all, and all you need is a "prop" as a base model with morph and option, maybe you'll want to try your luck with this prop:
https://www.daz3d.com/sy-whips-and-lashes-for-genesis-3-and-8Yeah, it's a whip! But it has quite a deal of morph and bending option. Maybe you can toy with it, change it's texture and tweak it shape a bit to turn it into a tail prop of your liking. The only thing left after that, it to...stick it, to your character's err but and there you go, you have your own custom tail.
Maybe ?I don't know, that last one is just a theoratical idea. Even i wouldn't know how to do it exactly. Ha ha ha.
December 20, 2018 at 9:40 PM #889011Thank you for the effort. Sadly the one that best fits my need is the Dragkon tail, which doesn't look like its available anywhere.
It's a shame really, I played with the old Hypertail morph on an older version of Daz and it was actually impressively powerful.
We really do need a new good genetic tail with some good morph options.
Right now it looks like I'll be turning to the cat tail from the catworld morphs.
