Tagging blog posts?

How much does it actually help and how much do downloaders care? I generally try to tag mine helpfully (base figures, artist, related words) but I don't know if it really matters or not

You may not intentionally use tags to search, but the site's search function does make use of tags, so yes, it is very important
Example; SKU is considered a tag, and if you search an SKU only, you will get that product as long as it actually has an SKU and it was properly entered when posting.
Also, categories are treated as tags as well. The user-defined tags simply expand on that.

Lots of people would search on say, "wardrobe" or "G8F" or they may be looking for all items by "SomeArtist". These are only available if the uploader added them as a user tag.

I've started focusing on adding tags that would be helpful but aren't in the product description. So if the description or title already say G8F and Genesis 8 Female, adding them as a tag isn't essential (but still a good idea).

When I'm making art I usually have an idea of what I need and if it's not in my library, I'll search for things like 'boots' or 'bodysuit' to find it, so adding general tags are useful for that.

Not really important but there's also a tag option when you link an image. Does that actually do anything?
