I'm working on a project but my laptop crashed at the beginning of it. Until Dell fixes it I'm stuck on my old desktop. I can use Daz with no problem, but I can't render anything, not even partial renders, which considering I'm kitbashing and creating textures is really annoying. Yet, somehow Blender works ok...

It used to work, but then I foolishly updated Daz...

The scenes are all just one figure, no props or environments. I used the scene optimizer to shrink the textures.

    Specs:

    Intel i5-3470 CPU 3.20 GHz
    8 GB RAM
450 GB HD with 50 GB free

I can't render in either iRay or 3DDelight. I've got iRay cranked as low as I can manage. Turned off all the fancy stuff. Max samples is set to 2000, Max time to 120 secs. Any ideas?

Can you render it with Iray preview mode? Things like displacement will not work in Iray preview but I've had scenes that refused to render in full Iray and they rendered and looked fine with the a preview render.

It seems to work, but I get a white silhoutte.

Edit: Auto Exposure Tool fixed that.

Thank you! I completely forgot about that option.

You're welcome Dimer. You need to hide the Orbit Cube and the View Options at the top right, and clone out the little bars left over. As far as I'm concerned the Iray preview is just about as good as a full render. It's saved my life with heavy scenes that Iray balks at.
