Hi everyone,
I am trying to reproduce the character Launch, from Dragon Ball, with Daz3D.
Do you have any suggestions for her hair and bow? Something similar?

Thank you!
CharlieFebruary 27, 2020 at 8:29 PM #1491970Oh poor Charlie, i feel and share your pain of not finding hair such as this.
I have, myself, been looking for month/years for a hair style more or less like this. Long anime hair who are not "flat" and have a bit of fluff/swirl and rebel hair in the back and on the top of the head that give them some volume.
Alas, content creator at Daz/rendorosity just don't seem to want or have the desire to make such anime like hair.
Now, if you think "oh, what are you saying, psschht ! There are hair like this that have been made ! "
Well....not...really...
Take the hair of the anime character in the orignal post here above. Here are it's key perk:
- Wide and long fluffy hair in the back, with swirl of curly hair strand here and there.
- Lush hair on the top of the head, not flat or sleek, with also curly strand of hair here and there.
- Frontal bang on the front of the head
- Hair short on the side, NOT covering the ears. Now, it IS possible to find a hair style that have one or more of these key feature, but i found that it's about impossible to find a hair style that have ALL of these perk together for Daz Studio 🙁
Especially to find long girl hair NOT covering the hair AND with frontal bang. you just don't see them.
For some unknown reason, content hair creator seem to just keep making long hair for girls being also long on the side and covering the ears.
And they almost always make the hair surface flat and sleek. Finding hairs who are wavy, swirly and have some volume like a lot of anime character have is about as rare as finding a needle in a hay stack.
There is just a handfull of "anime-like" hair available for Daz Studio between Daz Store and Rendersity. And unfortunatly, a lot of them were made for old content. (V4.)February 27, 2020 at 8:41 PM #1491984Hello LivinPixels and Checkit1414,
Thanks for your ideas and comments - I share your pain as well, Checkit1414!
I will try to be creative, then!
Take care,
CharlieFebruary 27, 2020 at 10:52 PM #1492106well, if you really want, there is a way, as people said, if there a will, there a way, with enough creativity, and persistence in learning you actually can go with the so called object import from other source like Sims or heck, you can reverse engineering the hair from Skyrim, there a lot of 3d Hair outside in need to be ported to Daz, be the chosen one now!
anyway, for starter, you can look at this:the next step is adding rig, bones, and morph to hair that is much much advanced, but if you able to take the first step, which i am not, you will able to learn the next step along the way (maybe)
February 28, 2020 at 6:39 AM #1492523I felt a bit sorry for my previous post as i felt like i was more ranting than helping you in your quest.
It's just...i also been in the same situation as you and i'm a bit frustrated too to not see more animeish hair style out there made for Daz.I'm afraid though that LivingPixels solution is kinda maybe your best option for this. (Until you maybe find a hair style that you feel "good enough" for what you want to do.)
That's what i did personaly. It's a lot of work. And it's not perfect. But if it's a "close/good enough" look you want for you character, then....it's better than nothing.
To help you, here is some hair style that may get you a good base to start with.
Shirley Hair for Genesis 3 and 8 Female(s)

(Lack frontal bang and hair are a bit covering the ears, but maybe you can play with the existant morph to deal with that. Has built in morph to send the hair behind the shoulder. Maybe you can add some custom morph to deal with what doesn't work. At least it seem to got the lenght and the "wavy" style going for it.)Tatiana Hair

(Got some sort of frontal bang, don't know if it's good enough, ears are uncovered, back lenght is decent, maybe you can custom morph them longer/wider to fit your taste. Has built in preset to have hair behind shoulder. Top hair has a tiny bit of volume, but not much.)Welp, all i can say is...good luck with your project. Don't lose hope.

February 28, 2020 at 2:00 PM #1493005Thank you all for all your great recommendations. It is not sure I will have the time to do everything in the very near future, but I take note of all the tips and tricks here, when I can do this.
Thanks again,
Charlie
