thank you for clarifying your first post. The way you explain it now is a bit more understandable . I think no one saw it this way in your first post. Personally I don't care about the structure of companies like DAZ/zygote/SM and how they are runned. it's up to them wether they run it with 1 or 1000 employees and where they get their fundings. Most end-users ,like me ,see only a company that provides 3Ditems and programs we (might) need.
Yes one of more quality then the other. Yes some store items are not worth 1 penny at all. and Yes some freebies on sites like sharecg are far better quality than some items in stores like DAZ and r'osity. But all this aside ....And, above all, do not put trash, there are other places less pure than this.
Who is to decide what is trash and what is not ? just because you are clearly not interested in V4 it doesn't mean V4 and everything V4 related is trash. if we, poser-users and V4-lovers follow this line of thinking than we must consider everything DAZ/genesis as trash... 😀 😀
...and we have way more mousewheelscrolling to just to pass al genesis stuff to get V4 items 😀 😀

Exactly, I'm even using DAVID3 and V3 items on V4, with a little bit of tweaking and some texture alterations a lot of 'magic' can be achieved And as for the car, oldtimer lovers will have to dig deeper but they always find a solution, rather than to buy newest expensive blingbling 😀
But it's only logic I suppose that creators jump on the train that earns them the most money
Besides, you can convert clothing and characters from v3 and v4 figures to g8m, some results are fabulous, you can even convert some expressions from v4.
non-daz/poser stuff should have their own "blog". im not interested in iclone or unreal stuff.
or, alternatively, is there a way to "blacklist" those things so they dont appear when i look on the blog?

Only thing I can think of that works more or less is specifying searchterms ... i enter things like "for V4" or "outfit for V4" as most posts have "...for V4" in their title.. it still turns up genesisitems as well, but much lesser and more V4 things
LOL, As a matter of fact I like watching Clarkson on Top gear and all programs like car sos 😀 despite the fact that I don't have an oldtimer myself. It's gonna remain a dream I'm afraid ..... since we're talking about offtopic play buttons 😀 😀
Look, it comes down to, as with all art: Beauty is in the Eye of the Beholder. or: One persons trash is another persons treasure. Whilst I may find something really cool, and useful, (and i usually do cuz i work with g2 only pretty much), you or someone else may be like, cripes, wtf is this post, what wants this stuff?! Someone out there just might, and might not be today, but maybe tomorrow, or next month etc... I've been a member for many many years, i just bite my tongue, unless the bear really needs a good poke.
If you don't have the clothing convert plugins, get them. I down convert all clothing to G2 and it fist pefect, execept armpits... something wierd there.
As far as searching, as long as the poster follows the guidelines, i use DAZ3d and Render* sites to find my items, then search here by the exact name. 90% of the time i find it.
And for the non-daz stuff, um, this isn't a DAZ only site. OBJ, 3DX, FBX, Unreal, iClone items can be used for just about any 3D app, usually you can load them in those apps, export to a format that can be used in DAZ, and if you can't you aren't googling hard enough. And if you are only Creating and Rendering in DAZ Studio, you are limiting your possibilities, try and expand your mind and your mediums. None of this is intended to come out as critism, but just mild suggestions.
