There's a problem with the 3.D.U.|<(edited to try to keep it out of google results) Sarah Miller, at least one that I am experiencing, where there's a distinct line on the torso map in renders near the very bottom of the map which doesn't seem to appear on the map itself, so I actually bought the thing so I could message them on RenderHub about it. Keep in mind, the map they created for the model *has genitals pasted onto it*; this was their response:

"Sara Miller has been in the store for about a year and a half, and you are the first to come and complain, and exclusively about the genital part.........

She is an underage character, and you are complaining exclusively to use the genital part...... Sorry, but I cannot help, as I do not provide support or participate in any type of use for child pornography.

Anyway, I already informed Renderhub support about this, and if you want, you can contact them"

Am I wrong somehow for literally just bringing it to their attention that there's a problem with their materials? Also, either through laziness or deliberate choice they ...let remain/added genitals on the model, so probably needless to say I was a bit confused about the strength of their response referencing an actual element of their own product. I know there's a long history on this board about this particular creator, and understandably so. Should I have expected this? lmao

Yes, you should expect that type of response from that vendor. He's a pirate that profits off of items he has pirated. He seemingly has no creativity seeing that all of his products are game ripped items. His rips are subpar...nothing has been adjusted or fixed (not textures or meshes)
Not only does he steal from WB,Capcom, Disney, Marvel, DC...etc. he also steals from users that make game modifications. "His" She-Ra model is just one example. He took a modified XNAlara file from a user on DeviantArt and converted it to Genesis 8. He did the same thing with "his" Invincible and Omni-man models (NLA)
The fact that he will release unfinished conversions and says on the product page "If you don't like it, don't buy it" instead of making actual working files speaks volumes.

The ironic thing is that even as a professional artist who has lost money to stolen content and very similar things, I will buy shit if I like it and I don't have some intrinsic issue with people making money off of cheap conversions - people *want* them. In a sense I am kind of impressed with this vendor's recklessness as well as how easy it is to just go do these things on a site like renderhub. I just found it kind of ridiculous to respond to strongly in reference to elements which they put on the damn thing themselves. I would say it's too much to ask for pirates to be gracious but I know better, this site is full of some of the nicest people I have interacted with on the internet. It's just a shame.

Update: RenderHub has just decided to refund the money and responded with this:

Greetings. The vendor did contact us, but they didn't "report" you.
The vendor may have overreacted, because we do have this in our Terms of Use:

"You agree not to post Content which depicts, or could reasonably be construed as depicting, minor individuals posed, with or without clothing, in obscene, morally questionable and/or pornographic configurations or situations."

It sounded like they wanted to make sure we knew ahead of time that they weren't encouraging that kind of thing.

I have issued you a refund back to your PayPal.
I apologize if the vendor's response made you feel uncomfortable.
I hope your experience is better with other vendors here at RenderHub. We actually do have some very friendly and helpful vendors.

Please let me know if you ever need assistance in the future.
    Have a great day!

Shrug. The vendor makes them money so I get it, but it does seem that they understand it was not a pleasant experience.

I, too, have been on the receiving end of pirating. It comes with the territory. My issue with that one is the hypocrisy. That's all. He's a pirate with a vendetta against pirates. I can overlook many things. Just own your sh!t.

I'm glad you got a positive ending =)

Yeah absolutely. And for sure I made sure to look through this board and kinda got a feel for the sentiment regarding them. I will just make my own texture for the character, it's whatever. Learned my lesson

Not hard to figure that someone who is cheap and lazy enough to rip game characters using Wrap wouldn't be too attentive towards making sure the textures worked properly.

The rest is probably confusion on the vendor's part, thinking you were making kiddie pr0n when in reality you were pointing out that his texture job needs work.

Good newsis, there are a gorillion Sarah Miller rips out there - look for the one by Checkertoo - it's (I find) to be the most accurate, and the texture is likely far superior. Shinteo, Sokurabbit, and lots of others have also done those character rips.

Renderhub overall isn't a bad site. I've bought stuff from them, and it's fairly straightforward. I avoid that vendor though, mostly because 1. he's a dick-dribble, and 2. there are far superior game rips out there for free.

The rest is probably confusion on the vendor’s part, thinking you were making kiddie pr0n when in reality you were pointing out that his texture job needs work.

The irony is that he knows exactly what people use these models for by and large and the mf pasted genitals onto the torso map; the (mostly) hilarious part about all of it is exactly the sentiment that mxypztlk expressed - just own your shit man. RenderHub told me themselves that the only time there's even an issue regarding indecency is when the assets used to present items in the store itself contain poses or content which can be considered questionable specifically in how the vendor is marketing the item. I don't hate a pirate, and I don't even need their assistance in fixing shit, I just tend to give people the benefit of the doubt when it comes to feeling any sense of responsibility regarding the quality of their own work. Shrug.

Thanks for the info re: better rips. The primary and basically only reason I ever get DAZ rips for anything is it saves me time in making textures or porting assets (clothes, jewelry, etc), but even in this case I made my own head morph and had already modified the textures. It's always an attempt to save time, because like many of us I could do the entire process myself. I think it's just that after all of these years I still have some belief that people are engaged with the process of creation beyond a cash-out because of my own sense of pride in my own work, even when it's for money. Oh well!

Also seems like 3DJerk is having money troubles again or gave up hunting us for the images... since he went on a publishing spree again. Just look how many stolen assets he released in the last few days again.

Since we added Bunkr as a file host he hasn't been able to have pictures or files taken down. I'll bet he's pissed!
