So, twice in the last 3 or 4 days I have selected an item, had my 50 points deducted and then when I go to download it, I get a message saying it's no longer available because the poster's account has been closed due to multiple violations of their user agreement. Ok, fine. But is that it? I can't get my points back? Both times I have reported it, but haven't received a word in response. Now, it's only a 100 points, but it's the principle. And what's more, there doesn't seem to be any clear way to determine if ANY files will actually be available until after points have been deducted. Both postings seemed legit, or they certainly didn't look any different than every other item. Can anyone tell me why this is happening? I can't be the only one.

April 19, 2025 at 12:08 PM #2125726@eatherboxxx, PM a mod. They can help. Also, make sure you report the posts as dead links.
April 19, 2025 at 6:00 PM #2125770Report and move on. You get 50 free a day. More if you sharing something.
April 19, 2025 at 7:18 PM #2125782You know, it takes only a moment to be kind to a new member, which all of us where at one point, instead of being snarky.
@eatherboxxx check your pm I sent you a message.🙂
April 19, 2025 at 9:57 PM #2125792I guess I was a bit snarky too. Sent OP some points as penance.
April 20, 2025 at 1:00 AM #2125801did you contact the original poster ? before reporting it as dead contact them , this is a no brainer I don't know why the rest of these guys are not telling you the same thing , the org poster might give u a copy of it or refresh the link and or give u ur pts back.
April 20, 2025 at 2:56 AM #2125805Ill let my hypocrisy flow. You literally get thousands of dollars worth of content basically free for doing nothing more than logging in. You aren't required to share. While it is annoying to "buy" something with points only to find the link dead its far from a life changing event.
Could we be a bit more subtle? Probably but Ive been on the internet to long to pander to people that cant handle a bit of snark.April 20, 2025 at 4:00 AM #2125812@frank22 lol you made me snortle (>_< )
This is exactly why I'm building a secure tunneling service, so White Knights (or anyone else but the link owner) won't get their grubby DMCA mitts on the link. Ultimately, even the provider service shouldn't/can't know the actual host address, everything is handled with an encrypted token and a proxy filestream via cURL.
I already have a working prototype, but I still need to work out some cache-less db things, and complete options for using various filerservice APIs (like MEGA, Google Drive, Mediafire, etc). The proof-of-concept already works on bare URLs.
I'd like for the provider to be agnostic as possible in the process.I'd hope Zone would finally implement something like this, I intend to GitHub this when it's polished and shiny. The user could even serve the images too without another 3rd party host, if they use such a service.
It sucks that the file's actual URL is exposed by the download button here, because Joe Copyright can just blow spitballs at your host and get you canned. No contact, no URL, no harassment. Win-win.April 20, 2025 at 11:32 AM #2125847Always report, if you find a dead post. I've got multiple accounts, that I try to check monthly so that they don't expire on me. If I ever get a dead post - I try to upload again in the next 24 hours. It is annoying when you lost access to a mega account for not logging in over a certain time.
April 20, 2025 at 12:14 PM #2125851Another reason to move to Google and MediaFire. As I posted in other thread, Mega has a lot of downsides.
