I'm going through my DAZ3D wishlist, and for each item I think "yeah, I could use this", I check to see if it's been posted here, or if it's been requested. For the last items I've checked, I've found a request thread, that has been filled. While I get that you might want to wait for a bit before uploading, at least I thought that most people at least DID upload, eventually.

But when I find a request thread fulfilled in 2020, where the item is still not up on Zone, I get a bit "WTF?"

This is a PIRATE SITE. The point of it all, is that we should all get to participate, grab content, make stuff with it, and maybe even provide a backup of content if something happens to a harddrive somewhere.

Yes, yes, yes. I know the "arguments" from particular participants on here, about it being their choice if they want to share with the server, that content goes up on other sites within minutes, etc. etc. blah blah.

SO WHAT? It's PIRACY! The whole POINT is to share shit. Who cares if it goes up on some other site? Yes, okay - if you're a newcomer, who hasn't got many points, I can kinda see how you might want to get some more off of the request thread, and so on. But honestly, folks - can we please, for all that is holy, start actually sharing stuff, and not sit on it like some scalper trying to gouge people for points? Points, mind, that is 100% worthless anywhere but here. And to be honest, most of us hoarders have points enough to last us through buying most, if not all, of the assets being shared on here.

Also! As many have pointed out in their messages, it IS allowed to share an item the original provider haven't uploaded after X amount of time. So, come on, stop being stingy, and just fucking share the content already.

Yeah, I noticed that too. It's weird if you ask me. I'm not sure if this breaks the flow of the website or not, gonna have to ask the mods about this one.

I guess they want you to PM a message w/ a higher price than 50 points??? Again, I don't know.

Well, the weird bit about the threads I checked, they're doesn't seem to be a post from the provider, just the people requesting the item saying it was filled. Which makes it even worse, because you can't know who filled it.

    According to AnjaBear:

"ONCE AN ITEM IS IN THE BLOG — @monkseye @eelgoo @hunter or @anjabear will close the Request from the REQUESTS FORUM once all users have received and paid for there items to the FILLER. This way we can see based on the FILLED date, if the item was not posted in the BLOG, one of us can fill it ourselves if the original FILLER won’t do it."

Note the subtle distinction: One of them CAN fill it themselves, not WILL fill it themselves.

MODERATOR COMMENT: You cut out half the sentence,
    making it's context incorrect

Please refer to EXACTLY WHAT I WROTE when you quote
only a part of what I wrote from the original post.

I suspect that some request fillers prohibit the item from being shared publicly as a condition. And I suspect that admins are reluctant to break that condition and post the item for fear of souring that relationship. Unfortunately, whereas it keeps that request filler happy, and those request receivers happy (admins included), it sours the attitude of many others on the site. Yourselves, for example.

The only solution I can see is for anyone who wants these items to join the requesters and offer up a minimum of ten times the normal download purchase cost in points. Personally, I can't be bothered to jump through those hoops.

    @errilhl
you can find out who filled it by going to the 'History' of anyone who offered points and look to see who transacted what specific amount of points with whom.

I'm not saying anyone is right or wrong by doing anything in particular, but I always thought that the requests forum was a way for people to express interest and collect points enough to encourage someone to bring an item to the site for everyone to share.

I've also noticed that some things lately seem to be held back from being posted. Items that garner a lot of interest seem to not make it to the site, be it for scalping high point purchases from them or for whatever other reason. I always felt it was implied that once all the initial offers were met, the item would be posted for everyone. My main issue with holding items for ransom are that those with few points can't pay 500+ point for these items just because they are popular.

But for all that it is, this is still a free market of sorts. As for me, I generally forget to check for requests for the items I post because sharing is the point for me, not amassing points. But unless those people who hold items back explain their reasons, we can only guess them, and as humans we tend to assume the reasons for anything are nefarious and it might simply be that they assume someone else will post them and no one does for the same reason.

I can confirm this desolating trend. Note the paucity of genuine "general releases" now (hidden in the flow of fake new products). The point cost inflation is going nowhere and is not in the "initial" spirit of the site. If private sharing (I mean without general release, the incentive is not bad per se) is not forbidden this site will die. As a consequence I have severely limited my own sharing and I am considering leaving this place. Fortunately some people are still playing by the rules, I gladly thank them.

    ANJABEAR'S REPLY TO THE RANT:

NOTE: I agree with some of the things said, but there are some things I find offensive regarding sharing -- especially with regards to Strong-Arming others into posting in the Blog - OR ELSE. We will be looking at this in the near future, I plan on asking the ADMIN and the other MODERATORS to discuss these things, and to fix some things which are unclear on the site, for the near future.

MY POST WAS TAKEN OUT OF CONTEXT IN A QUOTE ABOVE, PLEASE READ THE FULL POST TO GET THE CONTEXT
    https://zonegfx.com/forums/topic/request-closed-how-do-i-get-the-item-now/

FULFILLERS WHO DON'T WANT TO POST TO THE BLOG:

I only have 2 persons who have literally demanded that their products only be shared to those offering points over 500 points, and that they WON'T post to the BLOG. I have discussed this with Hunter and Monk, and they said it is the individual's right as they bought the item, it is their share, and we CANNOT force them to post it to the BLOG.

I don't see why that is a problem to anyone.

BUT... and this is a BIG BUT....

ZONEGFX WILL NOT BREAK TRUST WITH OUR USERS
(even if you throw a tantrum or hissy-fit at us)

The ADMIN (Hunter) and the Moderators (Monk, Eelgoo, AnjaBear, Tomsk) will not break the trust the users have with the site by simply saying "we will post it if you don't", that is STRONGARMING a user who according to the site's TOS has the right to post to the BLOG or not. I didn't write the rules, if you have issues with the way the site is run -- the MODERATORS HAVE 0 SAY IN IT -- Hunter is the Admin, here he is GOD, and you must take it up with him.

ME TOO: STRONG-ARMING A USER TO POST IN THE BLOG

Attacking the site or the Mods just cause you demand Strong-Arming a User into posting their Request Fulfillment Posts to the Blog isn't right. In a way, it could be viewed as raping someone for a piece of ass. "You won't let me, then I will force you to." Think about how the posts above have phrased this "Strong-Arming" tactic as being "totally okay" and how the Site is wrong for preventing it or giving someone a choice.

ATTACKING USERS WHO WISH TO SHARE REQUESTS FOR POINTS ONLY BY SHAMING THEM...
(Drives them away, and they will stop sharing at all)

I have received messages from Users who literally will NO LONGER SHARE with the community for exactly this reason -- they were shamed by Leechers who did not offer points (ever) and with the demand "YOU WILL POST TO THE BLOG... or...." some of you sound more like Mafia than normal 3D users who just would like an asset.

If you really want it that bad, where is the problem with offering, like, 500 points for it???

I am so tired of this repeated Bullying on here. And the Moderators and Site getting blamed for being unyielding and wrong.

I SHARE A HUGE AMOUNT OF STUFF ON ZONEGFX MYSELF - AND MONK POSTS A TON TOO.

Look at all my purchased stuff I have released into the wild here and then, shut the heck up people. I have dumped more than enough products and bundles on here to make people happy. Or maybe not.

I'm still playing CATCH-UP on all the stuff I filled in REQUESTS that I am behind in posting to the BLOG, mainly cause of all the other duties I try to fulfill here at this site -- UNPAID -- to remind you all... No one pays me to do this, I do it cause I enjoy the nice folks I have dealt with here, and keeping things flowing.

If I look up the combined accounts complaining I'll bet the majority of the complainers have never shared a thing here, and only LEECHED and that for 50 points in the Blog only (for which the poster receives around 20-25 points, whoopie!).

    If I sound ANNOYED -- I am.

GROW UP PEOPLE, this is a sharing site, we do our best to keep things flowing -- but those who complain the loudest here seems to have an alternative agenda -- like selling the shared items here to other sites for money, for real money.

    You bet I am annoyed.

Also -- I am constantly reviewing my Tips & Tricks section, because ENGLISH isn't my first language - it is my 3rd. And sometimes I select the wrong words, like WILL, CAN, MIGHT, HAVE TO, MUST... etc. Many of those words have different meanings in US English compared to UK English. I don't need to excuse myself for that, that would be stupid. If any of you want to do my job, then be prepared to spend 12 hours a day or more dealing with this stuff. FOR FREE.

    I've said my piece.
