Ok so ive messed with the pixel filter and render quality.
I understand the basics of Depth of Field for Daz but, I want the entire image clear.
I render larger and shrink also.
Id like to keep renders less than 12 hours and 6 even better.
Any tips?
February 20, 2018 at 5:52 PM #502642Well, deleting any objects not in the render viewport might speed things up a bit?
🙂
February 20, 2018 at 9:29 PM #502832I normal delete anuthing not in the scene.
However I do sometimes leave extra lights if i think they bleed over into the scene. I have in some cases deleted all preset lights and relit the scene with less.
I wouldnt mind adding a couple hours if it meant getting a crispy image
February 20, 2018 at 9:54 PM #502850I use very high settings on my final renders. This took a 9 hour 24 min render to 1 hour 44 min and you could hardly tell the difference.
First 'Scene Optimizer' (tried posting the url but it fought me)
I used it on maps and then figures far away. This is useful too.
'Instances Plus+' (again url would not post)(obviously doing it wrong)February 21, 2018 at 2:39 PM #503788Thanks. I may have found some setting.
Ill post a pic eventually. Im always open for more suggestions though.
February 21, 2018 at 6:04 PM #503978I have never gotten good results with Scene Optimizer. Most of the time it just fs up things in my render.
February 22, 2018 at 7:36 AM #504614A couple of tips maybe :
Make the lights overly bright to help Iray out, then lock down the Aperture/Tone Mapping in render settings to get the right exposure.
Render in layers: Split everything that doesn't interact into seperate renders then combine in post. This also has the benefit of giving you lots of options to tweak things really fast after all the render grunt work has been done.February 23, 2018 at 7:20 AM #505822So ive deleted most extra crap i dont need. Ill add floor shadows later.
My last Jedi render looked pretty clear to me and was less than 2 hours. This one missed the mark.
I am chopping this into at least 6 renders. This is the first section.
And this is about the 5th attempt to render it clearly.I've tried the lens at 50mm and 85mm. F10 and 12. I canceled on at 5 hrs 50%. This took about 2 hours. I could render for a day but, id rather not.
Focal point is on target but I am not using DOF.
February 23, 2018 at 7:30 AM #505831February 23, 2018 at 8:33 AM #505893If you don’t want any depth field, don’t turn it on. I can think of any software that has DOF as the default setting, digital renders are usually without focus unless you choose to use a focus method pre or post render.
Things thaght be casing “blur” are shadows without enough resolution and reflections without enough resolution. This may also include textures with baked in reflection that don’t match the scene.
Atmospherics may cause “blur” though we don’t really have them in DAZ outside SSS shaders as could refractive shaders (e.g. rendering through a refractive object).
Other than that, not rendering long enough can leave grain especially with bright reflections.
