    Is there any way to have new content and old reposted content in separate searches ?
    It's getting hard to scroll through the old stuff to find the new stuff.
    Thanks

    Don't be silly.

    Obviously I know the amount of content there is on this site, as I've been through it a couple times. I'm not asking the impossible.

    I was just wondering if there's an integrated function in the search options to specify new content or repost of old content. If not, it could be interesting to add the option for posters to specify if the content they're posting is new or old, and then add the filter in the search.

    And yes, people posting here should most definitely look up if an item has already been posted, before posting it, not only to avoid doubles but also ripping off the first poster. That's just common sense.

    Unfortunately not. As far as I know, old posts are promoted by a plugin, which then assigns a new date to a post that has been promoted. So, once the post has been promoted to the top it's been treated as a new post, with a recent date.

    So, old posts become young, then slowly sink to the bottom, then become young again, and so on... The saga continues.

    For this site, it takes about a year for the full circle to happen. I know because my old posts have been promoted in about a year time after they were originally posted.

    As the number of posts increases, so does the time for the full circle to complete.

    @Legolas18 I'm sorry if my answer was confusing to you. I didn't think your reason as to 'why going thru every single post would be time consuming' was silly. Rather I thought the idea itself of 'going thru every post' was silly. See the difference ? So, what you're talking about is not what I was asking for. Like I said, it's obviously a bad idea. What I WAS asking for was an automated system that would sort and filter content. Sure, writing the script it would be time consuming, as for any script, but it would then save a lot of time for the user.

    @Zozo Oh, I did not know that. So there IS such a system already in place, but it's doing the opposite work of what I was asking for, cycling thru old content automatically. Oh well, I guess all things have a hidden purpose. Anyway thanks for the info.

    A very easy way is to search your content to see if you have already got that item then you will know that its not new and not to spend points to download

    Oh, quit it with your condescending tone. It's added nothing to the convo so far.

    You really should read all the answers, not just mine. Or you might (again) not understand my answers as they are related to other answers.

    First of all, I wanted a search option to filter out old content. All content is internally tagged by date, which is how and why it keeps resurfacing automatically, like Zozo explained. I would imagine that adding to the search engine a sorting feature by date would be feasible. But that's beside the point now that I know the admins don't want that.

    Now, if there's a plugin in place that does exactly the opposite of what I was asking for (bringing back to life old deprecated posts from the beyond) then there's really no more point to my request. The system in place is by design, not by accident, and I'm not here to step on the admin's toes.

    So you see, this isn't so much about feasibility than it is about the grander purpose of things. You get me now ? 😉

    @Sunny

    Yes, that's what I've been doing. But scrolling thru the old makes you miss the new, which what I wanted to avoid.

    @LivingPixels

    Yes, That's a shame. This is the best site (that I know of) for Daz content. I guess it's natural to want things you like to evolve into even better things.
