I've been playing with this since this morning, and I love it. I highly recommend using this. It eliminates odd-looking clothing shapes in an instant.
July 22, 2026 at 4:25 PM #2181243@PeepShow45 - I'm guessing this is only for DAZ 6...
July 22, 2026 at 11:14 PM #2181286I'm referring to https://www.renderhub.com/heiwa-interactive-arts/sculpttool-for-daz3d
Which is available for both Daz 4 & 6
@hfofo
I wouldn't know; I never used that tool, never wanted to.July 23, 2026 at 12:10 AM #2181289Very interesting. I think one of the biggest problem areas on clothing tends to be around elbows and knees, where Daz clothes often behave more like a rubber hose than cloth in those areas and it looks weird. Real clothes have wrinkles and folds on the inside of joints.
July 23, 2026 at 11:48 AM #2181389This is where learning blender or marvelous designer can help. Even photoshop can add wrinkles. Of course, almost any AI tool can as well. It's hard to create a truly realistic scene with DS. But put a DS render into your favorite AI tool and ask it to make it photorealistic and you can get some really good results. DS isn't made for photorealism. It's an app for 3D hobbyists that can crank out 'good enough' renders without a steep learning curve or expense.
The funny thing is, DS has a lot more functionality than 99% of users will ever see. Unfortunately, it's usually very clunky and hidden behind their archaic interface and menus.
July 23, 2026 at 11:49 AM #2181390This is actuall a game changer, cause now you can if you want, put in your OWN Dynamic morphs on clothing that you have, that may not have any.
Hope this project keeps getting support.
July 23, 2026 at 11:50 AM #2181391@ulysses - problem is, many don't want to take the time to learn blender and/or marvelous designer.
They are just using DAZ and DAZ alone.
July 23, 2026 at 3:08 PM #2181418I've done very little sculpting in Blender. I think the last time I did it was with a lantern roughly based on the 4 faced Brahma, but in a very groteque Renaissance style. Where the open mouths all connected to the candle chamber. Not very original of course, but fun. My problem with doing things that way is that the native tools in Blender can also be hidden. Like the only retopo that actually works right is hidden in the mesh side menu, but it takes several hours of trial and error to get it to work right, and I haven't had much luck with addons or external tools that promise to do a good job. Each one misses the mark in one way or another. Either the topology is much too sparse, or much too dense. So I end up modeling them from scratch with good topology to begin with and then just tweak the mesh until it's where I want things. Daz models have a denser topology already, so sculpting within Daz studio is definitely a good feature to have, and frankly a no brainer.
July 24, 2026 at 3:06 PM #2181574So the clothes that I have parented to the figure when I use the Sculpt Tool bake to the genesis model when I'm trying to sculpt the genesis model.
Has anyone experienced this?
July 26, 2026 at 7:59 PM #2181827So someone finally recreated Poser's Sculpting Tools for DS.
Something Daz never did, because they insisted it wasn't possible.
Interesting. Will need to save up the pennies to get this.
