Is it just me or do all Sabby characters look alike?

Yes, there is a strong 'family' resemblance. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Many vendors are guilty of this though, as often each vendor has a signature look about their characters. As Sabby is such a prolific vendor, it is more likely to be perceived as 'same again.'

For me though I only am interested in the non-fae realistic ones.

    I agree wholeheartedly.

There might be 5 or 6 unique character bases, and everything else seems to be a "slight" variation of one of those...

So basically, if you get 5, you really have all 322 of his works.

You can pretty much say that about most venders now. Krashwerks are almost all the same. Mousso has different appearances but his texture and style is easy to spot as well as isource, bluejaunte. Even the celebrity series has different faces but is pretty identifiable. If you get two of a venders newest product you've probably got their entire collection.

Theyll take one texture and milk the hell out of it and make slight tweeks to the same model using the basic morphs included with G8. Rarely will you see a model as good as Orc HD or Underbelly pop up.

Im a fan of mixing morphs. Ive seen several characters with almost no change when dialed in. Even less with custom morphs. Some skins are exactly the same with a mole or freckles added.
Why work harder than you have to if people are willing to buy the same thing over and over.

Even the mighty Colm Jackson is getting repetitive, and he's not even trying to hide it. His Eisley for G8F is almost a carbon copy of India HD. Apart from the main promo image, they're exactly similar.

Well, style is one thing, but there's beauty in variety, and we're not seeing much of that from a lot of vendors. It doesn't take that much effort really, once you have a few diverse core custom and dialed characters you can make a huge variety of shapes. That, along with adding something new and unique, would be enough to satisfy me. I just wonder who is buying these same characters over and over again and enough to make it profitable. You can easily make almost any Sabby character with any other Sabby character and a morph pack.

Yeah all of these supposed big names on the market are actually not that good. Mousso, colm jackson, sase...etc. But bluejaunte on another hand, is freaking legend although he reused the textures alot.

Don't get me wrong. I like a lot of these vendors. It's not so much that their characters aren't quality. If I buy one, that's great, but why would I buy many when you can see the same faces, etcetera, in all of their characters. That lacks imagination and creativity. It's lazy IMO. It's not that difficult to fix that myself, but it would be so much better if it came from their mind. I want to surprised by what I see on occasion. I think that's what you look for. There seems to be a lot of PA's evaporating at Daz3d. I don't know what that means. Some of them are my favorites though

I'm not a fan of anyone who's work is repetitive. When it's easily noticed I think they have become creatively redundant or greedy. But then again as long as people keep buying their products without question the same stuff will be churned out.

All those Renderhub creators are legends IMO.

Some are migrating elsewhere for presumably better deals.
Perhaps others are a bit disillusioned.
What is encouraging is there are a lot of fresh names popping up at the likes of 'Hub.

There are still quality vendors about, at 'Rosity for instance.
Most of these are nowhere near as prolific as the others mentioned above.

I completely agree - they all look nearly identical. Once you've got one, you've got them all, which is why I ignore every new release.

I don't want to run down the creator, but I think they just got comfortable sculpting one type of face and never really branched out and tried to diversify the features.

You can normally spot a SASE/Sabby character a mile off, even without a description of the product or creator. The generic SASE Sabby character looks pretty - but a little too unrealistic and doll like for my taste - I prefer characters with more interesting, realistic faces.

Sangriart is a creator I really like. I love her characters.

I haven't been on the scene for a few months but was pleasantly surprised by all the new characters that have shadowed the usual dull dolls.

The Hub is refreshing, rendo is getting better. I wouldn't like to see DAZ hit hard times but they really need to up their game.

Whilst I freely admit to being a 3D-Junkie, I would imagine my preferences show by my requests. ๐Ÿ˜‰

    Oh you're a 3D-junkie alright ๐Ÿ™‚
I used to be the same but life takes over and I prefer the outdoors more these day because that office seat was starting to become part of me :p
