Same Nickname !

I found someone with the same nickname as me or i have the same as him, i dont really know, how is it possible ?

It can be really confusing in certain situations. Fortunately he is not so active so this case has never happened yet but still.

I'd just PM the other guy/gal and politely ask them to change their nickname. "The system" shouldn't allow duplicate names and if you registered it first I'd say you have first call on it.

I pushed my search a little further, and i think i'm the first active in the site,

it's really tight. We can't rely to the ''message/sent'' section as a part of them have been wipe since the last maintenance.
But that doesn't tell who is the firt registered here.

@Littlepleasures - i saw that his nickname is not the same as his account name while mine is the same. In this specific case shouldn't I have priority over this nickname ? I don't try to make the rules here but i'm trying to find a solution to avoid all confusions

because when I look at pablitoinf's point history he has recently received some, it can be private transactions or people who made a mistake when they wanted to send me points
indeed when you type my nickname in the recipient field, his account's name is suggested and not mine, if its the case it doesn't really matter, but it can shows a possible confusion.

Anyway at this state it's not really a big deal so wait and see.

I'm resisting the urge to change my name to Pablito. 😆

I've been aware of pablitoinf, since that name pops up when sending points to you. There are other members who have very similar names and I am certain that they get accidentally sent points all the time.

I think a courteous PM to the other Pablito is the right call.

That said, I wouldn't be opposed to a site rule that prohibits usernames that copy another member's account name. Perhaps there's a way to code it to prevent that from happening, but I have no idea how difficult that would be.
