People with realistic expectations are never disappointed.

At least a few movies/books about people wanting to move their consciousness into a virtual world. Some VR games today play with that concept.

I'd say plenty of people that started a small business with a fairly realistic expectation have been crushed by unforeseen circumstances like covid, a state increasing the minimum wage or ignoring crime.

have you not seen https://www.friend.com/ ??? an AI friend who is always listening around your neck... the promo video is even creepier:

the guy sitting with a friend playing games, gets a text message from his AI friend and decides to pay attention to his artificial friend instead... Still the more I play with Stable diffusion the more I want my fake friends to call me too 😉

The digipet to the digifriend. Why clean up poop after a real dog when you can click your digipet. Why deal with a person's baggage when your digital friend is always there for you

Set in the near future, The Trouble With Being Born takes a disturbing look at AI/robotics. Unsettling, subversive and very sad.

    Looks interesting.

This movie made me feel sorry for robots

Not exactly AI (or perhaps it is) but similar and raises some questions
