Hi gang. It's a texture question actually. 2nd Worlds International Airport has base textures for the asphalt surfaces and overlays for the surface markings. So how do I apply the overlays in DAZ please.
Cheers you clever lot!
February 16, 2022 at 9:04 AM #1777079Quick **BUMP** as still need help! 🙂
February 16, 2022 at 9:24 AM #1777082I had/still have the same problem with the Athletic Sports Park for Poser. The running track doesn't come into DS with the line markings on it. I began fixing it by retexturing all the segments of the track but other things came up so I left it for the time being. If the overlays are transparent pngs you could apply them to the surfaces in PS or like, or you could use a 2D clone brush to paint them on. Good luck Biff.
February 16, 2022 at 12:37 PM #1777169Cheers for that Frank. The problem is that the base textures need to be tiled to make them look right so I can't just overlay the markings as it would tile them too.
Curse you Poser!!!
Thanks mate 🙂

Pretty much the same problem I have with the running track. It looked crap because it wasn't tiled. I opened the texture and manually tiled it about a dozen times and had some success cloning on the line markings, but it was such a long process I left it for another day. Once retextured, you can adjust where the markings are by playing with the horizontal and vertical tiling and offset settings but it's a very crude hit and miss process. 99% of my Poser stuff works fine in DS but this thing is a complete pain in the arse to fix.In Poser somehow the texture is tiled and the markings applied over this tiled texture rather than the base texture. I could understand how that might work if the markings were transparent png files but mine are just jpgs.
This is where I've got so far which is still pretty crap. Might just use it for long shots.
February 17, 2022 at 2:55 PM #1777481...would it help to bake the tiled texture into a shader, and then use the LIE editor (or export to p-shop at that point) to put the markings on top?
As an alternate, since we're talking a flat planar surface here, perhaps whip out a primitive plane and texture that with your skid marks + opacity map, add the same bump/disp. as the underlying surface, and maybe offset the plane 0.001 or such?
February 17, 2022 at 10:22 PM #1777596Cheers GOF, I'll have a look at that. I was kind of hoping there'd be a miracle cure in DAZ's texture settings LOL
February 18, 2022 at 4:44 PM #1777827Well, I decided to go down the LIE route and found the perfect guide to Layered Image Editor and it worked a treat!
Thanks again gang!
