You spurred me to have a look in the back of my cupboard Elim.
    Hoi Sin sauce - 12/31/2023
Tin of stuffed vine leaves - 9/30/2019
    Gyoza sauce - 12/19/2015
Tin of red salmon - no date but at least 3 years old.
    All unopened.
I would have no problem using any of them, maybe not the gyoza sauce, but definitely the salmon. Tinned food lasts decades.

I'm getting pretty good at gauging avacados. I'll put one in a paper bag overnight which seems to ripen it enough to eat. We have a local food cooperative that generally sells a lot of local stuff.

If unopened peanut butter is good six months to a year past expiration date. If opened 3 months past add 3 more months if refrigerated.

    Peanut Butter is god's ambrosia.
I eat it while hiking, no fridge, no problem. It lasts a long time.
